Simisola_

My head bent on my desk, a novel on my lap as I glanced through it. Honestly, the novel was boring. I don't see how the story of the man that married two troublesome wives would help my life situation right now but I was just reading it to distract myself from the noise my classmates were making. After assembly in my school, the students are given fifteen minutes to settle down but my own classmates uses the whole fifteen minutes to discuss and catch up on each other as if they didn't see each other the previous day. If today was a Monday, it would have been understandable.

I hissed as I closed the novel and threw it into my bag. The zip of my bag chose today to be the perfect day to misbehave. I tried to force it close but the thing didn't want to co-operate. I don't know how many times I hissed and mumbled curse words at the inanimate object before Mide arrived and offered to help me.

"Hey Simi, let me help you with that."

I gave the bag to him and he carefully removed the leather that hooked to the zip before zipping it.

"I can see you are in a better mood today." He said sarcastically.

"Good morning to you too, Mide." I smirked.

"How was your night?" He asked as he handed my bag over to me.

"I guess you don't want to know jare. Why are you just coming now?"

"Eni wasted my time. I almost hit her today sef."

"Is not as if you use to even wake up early, you want to blame the small girl." I hissed.

"What is this one saying?" He mocked as he sat down comfortably beside me.

Eniola is Mide's twelve year old sister. His only sibling. They can quarrel for Nigeria but it's obvious, they can't do without each other.

Mide and I sat down quietly. There's never a time we have nothing to say to each other but I could tell, he doesn't know how I'd feel if he brings the discussion about Dindu and I. I guess it was awkward for him too.

"What were you doing before I came?" He asked me.

"Reading one boring novel. Can you imagine? I don't know what the writer..."

"Gimme lemme see it joor before you start to criticize the writer."

I handed my bag over to him.

"Don't spoil my zip oo. The novel is inside, open it with care." I warned.

He only smiled cockily as he rummaged through my bag and found the novel soon.

As soon as Dindu walked into the class, his gaze rested on my seat. I mean, on me. I'm sure everyone noticed because he was obviously staring like a moron. I hissed loudly. That one was obvious too. Mide raised his head from the boring book and he saw the center of attraction. I don't know if someone borrowed Dindu's brain or he was playing freeze but I continued the game whatsoever. I am not a girl to look away shyly when someone is looking at me.

We die here oo.

Mide tapped me on my lap softly. Maybe he thought I was unaware that dindu and I were now the center of attraction. It is a very popular fact in ss2 science class that Dindu and I can't stand each other.

"Guy, why you dey look her like that now?" Henry asked loudly.

Weren't we expecting that from Henry the talkative?

"Omo see love at hundredth sight oo." Chidera added.

Dindu ignored them and walked up closer to my seat.
