I heaved a sigh of relief as the pastor brought the service to an end. Through out the sermon session, I was busy thinking about what would happen this evening. Today is the day I'm moving to Ifeoma's house. I've been wondering also, if Dindu is as nervous as I am or he's just cool about the whole thing. I've been wondering too, if dad would feel anything when I leave, if he would cope at all because we've been attached for the past sixteen years of my life. I only went for an holiday in my Grandma house once and I couldn't even stay a week. The people there were toxic. Bunch of annoying cousins and aunties. I only vibed well with Fegor. He visited grandma for the first time too. Fegor is not really my cousin, I mean, he's a far relation. His mom is dad's cousin. She's married to a man from Delta. We had one thing in common. Our dislike for toxic people.
"Yo." Dad said as soon as his car came to an halt. I got down quickly and he did so too.
"What do you want for lunch?" I asked Dad after I changed into something casual.
"Oh nevermind, I'll prepare lunch." Dad smiled.
I stared at him as if trying to figure out something.
"Are you doing this because of the evening show?" I frowned.
"Can't I offer to make lunch?"
"Dad, you always answer questions with questions."
"Some questions serve as answers." He laughed
"I want an answer that doesn't end with a question mark." I pouted.
He laughed again.
"Simi, I've already forgotten the question."
I frowned.
I picked a cushion and threw it at him. He caught it and threw it back at me.
I dropped the cushion on the sofa because I know dad wasn't going to answer me if we continued playing.
"Sit down." Dad said calmly.
I sat down and he sat next to me.
"Princess." He called.
"Yes, dad."
"Do you want us to shift the day you'd move to when you find it more comfortable?"
"Watching a movie on my bed with an orange drink to sip alongside would be more comfortable anytime than anything in this world."
Dad shook his head.
"You will go oo. You only have the chance to choose when you will go. Maybe we can move it to next week. You might be more comfortable with aunty Ifeoma by then. We can go visit her every evening till next week Sunday."
This man is capping dust.
"I'm famished."
"Okay," he said, standing up. "I'll call you in 30 minutes time."
I got up too and grabbed a bottled water from fridge then I headed to my room.
I spent twenty minutes watching random funny videos on tik-tok before dad called me. We ate our spaghetti in silence.
"Princess, come back here when you've dropped the plates."This is definitely deja Vu just that we don't have two Intruders disguised with the name 'guest' in our dinning room.
I cleared up the sink then I returned to the living room.
