Y/N's POV

Conrad and I go below deck together.

I go to me and Fliss's room to get in my pajamas.

When I enter, I see that Fliss is already in her pj's and lying in bed.

"Hey," she greets.

I wave to her before gesturing for her to close her eyes.

Fliss gets the hint and puts both her hands over her eyes so I can change. "So," she says, "I've been wondering when you were gonna show up. Your blankets are on the edge of my bed. Are you sure you'll be alright on the floor? You know, the offer still stands to share this bed. Or I could sleep on the floor this time."

I shake my head as I change. "No. It's your boat. So your bed. Besides, I... won't need to sleep on the floor. Another opportunity has... arisen."

"What?" She gasps. "You don't mean-"

"Conrad has asked to share a bed."

"What!?" Fliss shoots up in the bed, accidentally uncovering her eyes in her shock.

"Fliss!" I object, holding my pajamas close to me to hide what's still uncovered of my body.

"Oh, sorry." Fliss stays sitting up, but covers her eyes again.

"Anyway," I say, "as I was saying, he offered and I agreed, but I told him that we need to stay on our sides of the bed."

Fliss smiles from behind her fingers. "That's my girl. Taking the slow road. That's smart. But I bet it will drive him crazy."

I giggle as I finish getting dressed in my pajamas. "Maybe. But that's not so bad."

Fliss laughs with me. "Can I uncover my eyes now?"

I nod, smiling. "Yes."

She uncovers her eyes. "Alright, then. I suppose you'll be going, then?"

"I suppose I will."

Fliss chuckles. "I'll see you in the morning then. Unless he snores. Then you'll be crawling back."

I roll my eyes, grabbing one of the folded blankets on the edge of her bed and throwing them at her.

She laughs, taking it off her face as I go to the door.

"Goodnight, Fliss," I tell her.

"Goodnight, Y/N." She gives me a wave as I exit the room, closing the door behind me.

I back away from the door, bumping into someone. I jerk, turning around to see Conrad standing right there, dressed in a navy tank top with the inscription "Salem, 1692, Massachusetts" along with Bermuda shorts.

He takes ahold of my arms, noticing that I look startled. He opens his mouth to speak, but his attention seems to be elsewhere as he looks at my blue, oversized pajama shirt and black pajama capris.

"Holy... you're cute," he whispers.

My face turns red immediately.

"Uh..." Conrad scratches the back of his neck nervously and tries to shake it off, shaking his head aggressively a moment before his cool smile returns. "I was just going to see if you were coming. I didn't mean to startle you."
