Sad

Tom's POV
-"Tom. We're heading out now."
"Yeah, okay Haz. I'll be out in a minute."
We just finished shooting some more promo for the film. It's been a tiring shoot, this whole movie has been exhausting but in the end it looks incredible, so it's 100% worth it. All that's left is the premiere and I finally get a break. The idea of relaxing puts me in a great mood actually, and I muster up all the energy I have left in me and make my way to the car to go to home.

-"Honeys, I'm home," Harrison mockingly says as we enter our house, as he drops the keys on the cupboard near the door. Harry and Sam simultaneously look back at Harrison with the same amused expression as each other. Sometimes it's scary how much they are alike, but, I mean, I think that's the point of being twins.
"Hey boys." Is all I simply say before going to the kitchen and putting down the container of food we picked up from Mum's house on the way.
"Mum sent food."
--"Great, I'm starving!" Sam walks into the kitchen.
—"What's to eat?" Harry follows.
"Oh really? Hungry from doing nothing all day, you two?" I tease, sarcastically.
--"Famished." He laughs.

My phone starts vibrating I'm my pocket. Goddamn it, I can't have 10 minutes to myself, can I?
"Kevin Fiege?" I whisper to myself, reading the caller ID on the screen, before swiping against it to answer the call.
"Hello?"
~"Tom... I have some bad news."
I leave for the lounge, leaving the boys to enjoy their food.
"What's wrong?"
And what he said after- the words he spoke sent daggers into my soul. They were like rocks against my chest. I stood there in shock. His words ringing in my head.

~ "Spider-Man will no longer be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

My throat went dry and my eyes became moist. I literally felt my body being devoid of blood, leaving me as merely a pale silhouette.

~ "Tom? You're still there?"
I come back from where my mind drifted off to.
"Uh, yeah, Kevin, it's just- it's a lot to take in. Wow."
~"Yeah, it's sad. Such a shame."
"But why? What happened? The movie, the franchise, everything was going so well. I don't understand."

~ "Well, it's the same old story about the film rights, Tom. And currently, Spider-Man is owned by Sony. The reason you were able to appear in Disney movies was because of a deal agreement between the two companies.
But now Disney requested for a 50/50 co-financing agreement. And Sony refused, because, well, Spider-Man is theirs. So with that disagreement, Disney has revoked the deal for Spider-Man to appear in the MCU."

"Oh for fucks sakes, Disney. When did this happen?"
~"Only a few hours ago."
"Ok, oh god, Kevin what are we gonna do now? I mean the movie just ended with the biggest cliffhanger in the history of cinematography!"
"I don't know Tom. We'll figure something out, I'm trying to reach the Sony management at the moment so I'm going to try and persuade them"
"Okay then, maybe I'll try Disney then. Hopefully this works out."
~ "Yeah, Yeah"
"Alright, then Kevin, I'll speak to you later."
We say our goodbyes and I end the call, walking back into the kitchen.

-"You alright, Tom?" Harry asked.
—"Yeah, you're pale mate" Sam added. I sat down at the table and ran my hands through my hair, pulling at it a little to ease the sight headache coming on.

"Not at all."
