*TRIGGER WARNING*
This chapter may be a bit graphic and could be a trigger. Read at your own risk.

Adrenaline pumped through my veins and the sound shocked me, but the sight scared the life out of me. A car collided with the concrete barrier, ruthlessly damaging the front and right side of the car. I hear screams.

-Alia? Are- are you okay? Alia?! Wh-what happened?' Tom panics on the other side of the phone. He definitely heard the crash too.
"Yeah, Tom, I- I'm fine." I say while heading towards the car. "There was a car accident. I've gotta go."
I don't even wait for him to say goodbye, when I end the call, dial an ambulance and put the phone away in my pocket, all while running to the disfigured vehicle.
The cries for help belong to a woman and I think I hear a child as well. And when I reach them, I see my assumptions were correct.

The woman looks to me and then to her son, who is banging on his backseat window, crying to get out. He must only be 8 or 9, but he is in a lot of pain considering his leg is jammed under the passengers seat. The woman was in a worse condition, as the car's entire bumper was pushed right in and her window was shattered all over her. I won't get into details about the injuries but take my word for it when I say it was a gruesome sight.
"Don't worry, babe, I'm gonna get you guys out."
-"Please..." she sobs, "My boy...my son... save him, save my boy."
"I already called an ambulance, Miss, they're on their way. I'm gonna get you both out." I reassure her.
I go to the other side and try to open the already half-dislodged back door.
-"You're okay baby, don't worry. Everything's gonna be okay." She is talking to her son, who is still crying, while I continue to rip off the door.
"Hey there, sweetie. You're okay." I try to console him, "I'm gonna try to get you out, okay?" He is hyperventilating. Not a good thing. "Calm down, calm down, breathe with me...In .... and out... in ...and out." He joins me, and his breathing settles a little, and a little is all we need. "Good job, babe. Now can you try and move your leg for me?" All he does is shake his head 'no'. "Does it hurt a lot?" He nods.
That means his adrenaline of the car crash is already wearing off and soon he's gonna be in even more pain than right now.

Thankfully he's stuck under the passenger seat. If he was on the other side, this would have been a lot harder. I go to the front and open the passenger side door.

"Okay, sweetie, on the count of 3 I'm gonna pull the seat front and you're gonna try to move your leg completely out. Can you do that for me?" He nods.
"1... 2... 3" we both pull what we were assigned to and he gets his leg out. I help him out the car quickly and to the side walk. His leg is definitely dislocated, but thankfully, I hear sirens getting closer and closer.

Fortunately, the medics help the woman out and I escort the boy into the ambulance. They give him an anesthetic and he soon goes to sleep. As I'm about to leave the van, the lady calls out to me.
-"Stay with him, please." were her last words before her anesthetic took her consciousness.
I stand completely still, taking a moment to decide whether or not I should get in the van with the boy.
"Aah, fuck it." I whisper under my breath before jumping up to the back of the ambulance and taking a seat next to one of the nurses, next to the boy on the stretcher.
