I walked into the gym which was decorated in the school's colors, the room was dark while the only light was coming from different color lights which flashed around the stage floor, others remained steady outside of the dance floor. I watched as teens push, shove, and ... well other things on the dance floor.

I subconsciously move closer to Desmond, seeming to seek him for protection against the crowd. I despise crowds, especially a crowd of immature teenagers. "Hey Desmond! (Y/N)! I was wondering when you both would show up." A girl with reddish brown hair, fair skin, and light brown eyes wearing a scarlet red dress spoke, walking up to us with my brother by her side.

"Hey Juliet." I say, smiling at her in greeting, glancing over towards my brother who looked bored out of his mind. Juliet was my brother's girlfriend, just a year younger than him.

"You look beautiful tonight (Y/N)!" She spoke in a cheerful tone, walking up to me to give me a small hug before pulling away, looking at me up and down.

"Hey! What about me?" Desmond spoke in a fake pouty-like voice.

She looked over at Desmond with an unamused expression, "You look ... decent." She then looked over at me with bright eyes, "C'mon! Let's get a few snacks." She grabbed onto my hand, dragging me away from Desmond who just scoffed at her comment, shaking his head.

I was dragged to a long table covered in food, mostly sweets, but food nonetheless. "Oooo! There are some cookies here!" Juliet spoke in a cheerful voice, a bright smile on her face, walking away from me to go over towards the end of the table. She stopped once she noticed I wasn't following her, "You coming?"

I shook my head, "No, I ate before I got here. You go on ahead."

She shrugged, "Ok, I'll be right back." Juliet continued her way while I stayed in my spoke, I looked over in the direction where I last saw Desmond to find him talking with my brother ... peacefully for once. I smiled softly as I watched them converse with one another peacefully.

"Well look what we have here." My smile faded into a frown, as I looked over finding two teenage boys standing behind me. "A pretty little thing isn't she?" The other spoke with a smirk.

I took a small step back, before one grabbed my wrist and yanked me to him while wrapping his arm around my waist. "Let go!" I say loudly, but the music was far too loud for anyone to hear me.

"Awe come on, we just want to have a little fun." The one holding me spoke with a smug grin.

I froze, feeling myself begin to tremble, I clenched my teeth. 'No not now! I-I need to fight back ... why can't I move!?' I thought, struggling to get my muscles to move as my breathing began to quicken.

"You heard her. Hands off!" I hear Desmond growl behind me, his hands clenched in a fist.

"And what are you going to do about it?" The one standing next to the boy holding me spoke, taking a step forward with a smirk on his face.

Desmond shrugged, "Well ... this." He then swung his fist, landing his punch on the guy's jaw before yanking me out of the other boy's grip before pushing me behind him. Then the fight ensued to the point the teachers had to get involved, pushing Desmond away who now had a busted open lip.

Desmond tried to push his way past the teachers, but they held him back as they dragged the other two boys away. I walked up to Desmond quickly, placing my hand onto his chest as I stood in front of him, blocking his vision of them, forcing him to look into my eyes. "Desmond, it's ok. They're gone." I say, as I struggled to get my trembling under control.
