I walk into the bustling bar, looking around with slight interest as people conversed, laugh, or even better yet make a fool of themselves. It was a sight to witness, great entertainment in my opinion, however I wasn't here to sight see or even to get a drink.

I walked up to the bar, slipping into a chair as I waited for the bartender to come over. "What is a girl like you doing in a place like this?" A familiar voice questioned, causing the corners of my mouth to curve upward.

"I'm here for a friend." I say as I look into the male's dark brown eyes, a small smile playing onto his lips.

"Seriously (Y/N), what are you doing here? Last time I checked you don't drink." He questioned with a chuckle as he began to wipe down a small glass with a piece of cloth. I smiled softly, taking another small glance around as a large group erupted into laughter. "Much less being in the city ... or around a group of people." He continued, following my gaze before looking down at me.

"What? I can't visit my friend on his first day on the job?" I questioned with a small smile, my gaze traveling back onto him.

He chuckled, shaking his head slightly, "It's my second day."

"Oh come on, orientation doesn't really count." I counter with a grin.

He let out a sigh, "You have a point there." He then placed the glass down on the counter before throwing his dirty rag over his shoulder. "So, since you are here, what can I get you?" He asked as he placed his hands down and leaned forward slightly.

"I think you know Desmond." I answer, giving him a wink causing him to smile.

He nodded, pushing himself off the bar, "One virgin pina colada coming right up."

I landed back first into the dirt, the impact knocking the air out of my lungs. "I told you, stop charging forward like a bull. You're not strong physically." Altair lectured as he walked up to me, holding out his hand. I followed his hand up to meet his bare chest, up to his face. He hasn't even broken a sweat yet, much less gotten out of breath. "Especially if you're up against me or another strong opponent." Altair added coldly. I let out a sigh, taking his hand, allowing him to pull me up to my feet. "Now again." Altair commanded as he took a few steps back, getting into a fighting position.

I simply shake my head, rolling my shoulders before doing the same. Altair insisted on starting early this morning, he came into my room, shaking me awake, insisting I come outside. It was dark, the sun wasn't even over the horizon when I woke up, even the dogs weren't awake. The past few days itself has been busy since helping three new members move in, causing a few to bunk up. Of course that led to Desmond sleeping in my room, but he slept on a small pullout of a couch that was in the corner of my room by the bookshelves, of course it wasn't a big deal to us. After the first Jasper attack, Desmond would often spend the night whenever I get serious panic attacks. However, the others weren't too fond of the idea.

I charged forward, noticing Altair's eyes flash in annoyance as he got ready to slam me against the ground again. Though this time, I veered right, catching him by surprise before swinging my fist towards his face. Before I could land the hit, Altair caught my fist before shoving me to the ground once more, this time stomach first.

"Better." He complemented, before looking up towards the sky, the sun finally peeking over the horizon as the golden rays scraped along the treetops, a cool breeze ruffling my hair. I rolled over onto my back, letting out another sigh as I laid there, a small smile forming along my lips hearing Altair's words. "But not good enough." He added, causing my smile to fade.
