Everyone was sitting in the living room, doing some sort of art. Virgil and Logan were working on a painting of our solar system, Patton and Janus were drawing animals and Remus was using makeup to make a picture of a car. Roman, however, was making a different kind of art, he was singing. Most of the others enjoyed it, singing along softly, begging Logan to join in the singing but Patton was just annoyed. Everyone was doing art, but Roman wasn't! He pushed the thoughts aside and put on his best I'm okay smile.

A couple weeks later, Remus had come up with the idea to make a huge painting for Janus's birthday, with the help of everyone else. They all happily agreed, but Roman said he'd mess it up and it would all go to waste. Remus was sad but said that it was okay, same as Logan and Virgil. Patton was mad and said,
"But it's for Janus! Why can't you help?" He said, before adding,
"You won't mess up, even if you did Janus won't mind."
"I.. Okay, I'll help?" Roman said uncertainly. He knew he was going to mess up, but he didn't want to upset anyone. Patton smiled and held out his hand.
"Come on then, Kiddo! Let's go see your art style!" He said, bouncing up and down. Roman giggled and took Pattons hand before sinking down and rising in Pattons room.
"Why didn't you accept it at first? I bet its because your insecure abiut your bad art. I just wanna know why you can't see that even though your art is disgusting, you should help Janus!" Patton said, pushing Roman on the bed. Roman whimpered softly, easily intimidated. Patton smirked and leaned over Roman.
"I'll teach you not to be ungrateful~"

One year. One year of pain, one year filled with a mix of lies and truths. One year of secret keeping and hiding places. One year of covering up and fake smiles.

One year was all it took to drive Roman to the edge. The edge of the knife lay on the prince's arm, digging in and ripping his skin so harshly it bled. The thick red liquid ran down his arm, causing him to shiver at the familiar feeling. He slashed a few more cuts, making sure they were in a perfect square, before digging his fingers in the cuts, opening them wider and whincing in pain. He took his fingers out the cut, smiling sadly when he saw them blood coated. He looked at the wall and started painting a picture with his own blood. A picture of an eye, eerily realistic. He was close to finishing when black and white dots started to dance in his vision. He cursed and sped up the painting, stumbling backward when he saw it was completed. He used what little strength he had left to call out,
"PATTON!" and smile as he heard Patton running up the stairs. He ran into Romans room only to gasp and break down in tears.
"Is it beautiful enough, Patton? Is it beautiful enough?" He asked, laying down and resting.

"Beautiful enough, beautiful" Patton murmured. It had been three months since Romans death. Thomas had felt no creativity, therefore ditching his channel and losing all his money, causing him to become homeless and starve himself. The sides were stuck, roaming around in Thomas's head as they waited for their host to wake up from the coma. Maybe, just maybe, he'd wake up for a bit long enough to kill himself completely.
