429 words, not including this part. Tw: Sad Patton, depressed Patton, major character death, tiny mention of homophobia, suicide. I think that's it.
Patton giggled, smiling softly at his boyfriend. They had been dating for a year and three months now, but Paton had yet to tell his parents. He was scared because his parents were open homophobes. Roman placed the fake flower crown on Pattons head, already wearing his own. He cooed, calling his boyfriend adorable. Patton blushed, protesting by saying that Roman was cuter. After ten minutes of arguing, both men were bright red and flustered. They looked at each other and giggled, finding it hilarious. Roman took Pattons hand and stood up, pulling the other up with him. He was greeted by a mixed look, half confusion and half curiosity. Roman giggled and lead Patton to a beautiful mountain cliff. Both of they stared off into the distance, smiling softly as they held hands. Roman suddenly said,
"I love you!" which caused Patton to smile.
"I love you too!" He said lovingly. Roman giggled before saying,
"On three, let's yell that we love each other!" Patton gasped and nodded excitedly.
"One." Roman said, taking a deep breath.
"Two." Patton said, trying not to giggle.
"I LOVE YOU!"
"I LOVE YOU!" they yelled at the same time, smiling brightly.~~Three years later~~
Patton stared down at the fake flower crown, tears in his eyes.
"Patton?" a voice asked from the doorway. The man on the floor showed no reaction, focused on the crown. The man in the doorway sighed. "Patton. We are going to visit his grave. Do yo-" Virgil was cut off by Patton standing up immediately, running to the car. He stood still, carefully putting the crown on his head. He climbed into the car, his face expressionless as he sat down. He fiddled with the sleeves of the red and white hoodie, nibbling on his lip out of habit. He stared out the window until they arrived, immediately getting out and running to the mountain cliff. Patton looked to his side, his face lighting up when he saw Roman beside him.
"On three, let's yell that we love each other!" Patton gasped and nodded excitedly.
"One." Roman said, taking a deep breath.
"Two." Patton said, trying not to giggle.
"I LOVE YOU!" He yelled, his tears taking over. Roman wasn't there and he hadn't been for a year. Everyday was blank and dark, no light or sparkle. He walked off the edge, smiling brightly.
"I LOVE YOU!" He yelled for the last time in his life as he landed on Romans grave, his head cracking as it hit the grave stone. He was finally with Roman, forever.
