Chapter 20: Pay Day

Ag's pov:

Falling back to sleep was very difficult. My dream kept repeating itself everytime I closed my eyes. I've came to the conclusion that I'm officially going insane. It was 8am and I was the only one up. I took a quick shower and got dressed. The following morning we were on our way to Florida. The drive was extremely long and boring. We arrived at Florida soon after and drove to Dominic's house, aka Florida man.

"Welcome back ladies. How was the little treasure hunt?" He asked.

The three of us glanced at each other and back at him.

"I don't know, maybe that "little treasure hunt" wasn't so little don't you think? Julia's car is totaled and we don't know what to tell her parents." I replied.

"The car part you're gonna have to figure out on your own but anyways can I have my items please?"

Emmi handed him the bag with all the stuff we collected from each target. He looked into the bag and told us to stay in the main entrance while he go gets our money. Soon enough he came back with a plastic bag filled with cash.

"Thank you for your services. Donatello told me to tell you guys to meet him at the club again, it's important. Have a safe drive back to Michigan, until next time."

He waved at us as we left his house and got in the car.

There better not be a next time. I refuse to go through something like this ever again.

19 hours into our drive back to Donatello's, there was a dead silence in the air. It wasn't an awkward one, it was a peaceful one. As usual, I'm looking out the window watching the cars zoom past us. Emmi and Julia held a conversation between themselves.

"We only have 2 days left. We have our money but we don't know where Anna is yet. The cops don't know either. I'm tired of this shit, I wanna be home already."Julia groaned.

" Same, but we're so close. We'll be home in no time." Emmi ensured.

That's getting harder and harder to believe.

We finally in Michigan at the club where we originally met Donatello. We entered the building making our way to the private rooms. The bouncers let us through and we sat down with him to discuss our next move.

"I'm surprised you guys didn't die." He joked.

" Yeah well, I am too. This entire situation is so surreal to me." Julia stated.

Emmi and I nodded in agreement.

"So what now?" I asked.

"Well to start off I need you guys off the authorities's minds. You guys are being hunted down right now as we speak. But don't worry, I know a guy that'll take care of this. He works with them. You guys should be free soon. We're gonna go to my place, I have something to show you. Follow me."

We followed him out of the club into a blue Jeep. I sat up front with him while Julia and Emmi sat in the back.

"How do you have so many connections? You always know a guy and they get stuff done for you. Where did you meet these people?" I questioned.

He shook his head chuckling, hitting the steering wheel lightly.

"Well kiddo, it takes a lot of work to be in the position I am right now. Be friends with everyone, it comes in handy a lot as you can tell. Other than that, those people are just some old time friends."

I nodded at him as I drifted off into to my thoughts.

(Sorry this chapter was short, the next one might be too idk but ik the chapters after the next one are pretty long. I have school(obviously) and I'm trying my best to post daily. If I don't post for an entire day I'll post the next day.)
