Chapter 5 - The Hospital

Connors P.O.V

Lucy, the shop manager, insisted Emily took me to the hospital. We got to know each other a little bit whilst in the car. I was worried if she knew I was in a band she would fangirl or use me but she posts youtube videos and does covers so she gets it. In fact, me and the boys have seen a few of her covers and videos and we really like them, she's got an amazing voice.

"Hi, I've hurt my arm, my elbow, I tripped over and fell backwards," I explained to the receptionist. "Okay, can you fill this in please," she smiled and handed me a sheet of paper with spaces for me to put my details in. I handed it back and she asked me to take a seat.

"You don't have to stay if you don't want," I said to Emily not wanting her to think I'm forcing her to stay. "Oh, I don't mind," she smiled "unless you want me to go, I don't to hang around and pester you," she added standing up. "No, stay." I said pulling her hand making her sit back down and she smiled.

We sat and waited for about 30 minutes playing twenty question to get to know each other. "Connor Ball." A nurse called my name and I stood up. "I'll wait here," Emily said and smiled at me and I nodded at her.

"Does it hurt if I do this," the nurse said examining my arm and I winced as she squeezed it. "I'm gonna send you for an X-Ray, I don't think it's broken, just sprained and bruised." She smiled and gave me a piece of paper to take to the reception desk. "Thanks," I smiled and walked out.

I walked to the receptionist and gave her the paper. She quickly read it and said "Okay, head straight through those doors then follow the signs to the radiology rooms. Tell the person at the desk your name and they'll sort you," she said and smiled. "Thanks," I replied.

"What did they say?" Emily asked standing up walking with me. "I need an X-Ray. It's probably not broken but they want to check," I said. "Alrighty," she smiled. I went to the desk, told them my name and they said there will be a bit of a wait, 1 hour max. Emily and I sat down in the corner.

"Do you need to call your friends?" Emily asked me. "Yeah, I probably should!" I exclaimed just remembering them. "Do you need my phone?" She asked and as I was about to say yes I remembered mine was in my pocket. Instead of replying I just pulled mine out and smiled.

*PHONE CALL TO BRAD*
Hello?
Hi it's me
oh, hi bro, what's happening, you've been ages!
Yeah I'm in the hospital waiting to get an X-Ray!
WHAT? why didn't you call earlier, your in the hospital alone!?
No, no, Ems here
Em?
I'll explain later, I just need an X-Ray, then I'll be back,
Want us to meet you now?
Nah, I'll see you soon!

*END OF CALL*

"That was Brad," I said to Emily and she just smiled. We just chatted and laughed at lame jokes. We did accents and I obviously did Davey Jones! She attempted it but wasn't too great, I taught her a few words but it ended up in us having a laughing fit.

"Connor Ball," I heard my name and got up and smiled at Emily and walked into the X-Ray room. Overall, it wasn't broken but it was badly bruised, there was no bone damage but because of the hard impact of the fall, it caused the bruising instantly and it would be painful for a week or so. I walked out and informed Emily.

We walked out and got into the car. "Put your address in the satnav and I'll drive you home." Em said. I did as she said and put the address of my building in. When we arrived I decided to invite her in. "Hey, um do you wanna come inside? I mean you can meet the others and we can order some food and stuff, I mean only if you want?..." I asked her. "Uh, yeah sure." She smiled and pulled into the buildings car park and we walked into the building and up the lift to out floor. I forgot my key so I knocked on the door.
