It was supposed to be a normal day at school. Usual activities, quizzes, recits, and gossips. Not until someone made a scene that caught everyone's attention.
Nasa cafeteria kami at bumibili ng lunch. Maraming tao dahil sa juniors. May activity kasi sila ngayong month.
"Burger steak po." The usual lunch for me. Minsan bumibili ako ng slice ng pizza or minsan crackers lang at milk. I love drinking milk but not milk tea.
"Jez, cramped ang cafe, gazebo tayo?" Aya nila Jill. Agad naman kami pumayag. Dala ang mga pagkain namin, pumunta kami sa gazebo. Hindi ganong matao roon kapag lunch time.
But not today.
Ang daming tao na nakapalibot sa gazebo. Mukhang may pinapanood sila. Away? May nagkakagulo ba? Nasan ang officers? Pati juniors ay nakiki-usisa rin sa nangyayari. Anong meron?
"It's Hiro." biglang sabi ni Lorie kaya napatingin kami sa kanya. "I thought Kyle was just joking yesterday. Sabi niya dumarami raw ang admirers ni Hiro at ang iba ay malakas ang loob na mag confess hoping that Hiro will reciprocate their feelings for him. And this is one of those confession."
What?! I gave my food to Nico who's standing beside me. Nakisiksik ako sa mga estudyante just to see what's happening in the middle. There I saw a girl from lower year. Holding a piece of paper which looks like a love letter and a rose! Inaabot niya iyon kay Hiro while the latter's just standing there, smirking while holding a tray full of foods.
Nasa tabi niya si Sam na may hawak din na tray. Mukhang sabay sila na kakain sana ni Hiro. She was just there looking at the junior girl. The girl is pretty. Nakabraid ang mahabang buhok. Pink lips and pointed nose. I heard from other students that the girl was the prettiest in her batch.
"I really like you Kuya Hiro." The girl said. Sam was trying to contain her laugh. Nakatitig naman si Hiro sa babae na parang natutuwa siya sa nangyayari. No, you won't play with that girl's feelings, Hiro.
"He will gonna accept that confession and later on dump her." Nasa tabi ko na pala sila Lorie. Nagpaiwan naman daw si Gus, Charles at Nico sa likod. They don't like to witness things like this. This isn't their thing.
Tinanggap ni Hiro ang letter at rose. Nilagay niya ito sa gilid ng tray niya. Nilingon niya si Sam sa gilid niya. "What do you think?" He ask. Sam just shrugged. She will never gonna answer because she likes him too.
"What's he doing?" Medyo nakakairita ang ginagawa ni Hiro. Pinaghihintay niya ang babae. May mga estudyante naman na nagchicheer dun sa babae. Mga classmates siguro?
"Just date her already, Kuya Hiro! She's worth it!" Sigaw ng mga estudyante. "Kristal is such a catch!"
Hiro smiled. Tumingin siya roon sa babae na tinawag na Kristal. She's confident. Taas noong nakatingin din siya kay Hiro.
"Kristal. Hm. Stop calling me Kuya if you really like me. Let's have lunch together." Hiro finally said. Nagtiliian ang mga estudyante. Ngiting ngiti naman si Kristal. Hiro placed his tray on his left hand so that he can hold Kristal's waist. She looked so happy. Sam's smiling but I can see through her that she's not happy at all. Naglakad na silang tatlo paalis kaya nagsialisan na rin ang mga students.
"Finally! The show's over! We can now eat in peace!" Natatawang wika ni Beth.
"That was the fifth girl." Lorie said. Charles looked at her accusingly.
"Mukhang updated ka kay Hiro, huh?" He mocked. Nagkatinginan kaming lahat except kay Lorie at Charles na nagtititigan. I guess we have the same thing in mind, someone's jealous. Sabay sabay kaming tumawa kaya napatingin samin ang dalawa. We just shrugged it off at kumain na.
