At 19, you have so much experience yet so little at the same time. You don't know much but you know enough for your age. Love and heartbreak are one of the many lessons one learns the hard way.

Y/n twirled the match stick between her fingers, mind on everything except her surroundings. Scratching the match on her jeans, she watched as the flame sparked, intrigued by its beauty.

"Hey! Can you light this?" she turned to see a blonde boy. He was pretty handsome. "Never thought you'd be the one to smoke." she held the flame to cancer that he was going to inhale.

"Those things kill you know?" she warned as she looked at the stick again. "I don't need a lecture, lady." "Your funeral, asshole." she sneered, blowing the flame into nothing.

It was silent for a while, Y/n rolling her eyes as the smell of tobacco filled her nose. "Sweetie," she looked up to see her parents. "Let's go home." "Fine," she said nodding as she got up from the bench.

Her parents looked at the boy next to her. They noticed his hairstyle, his lip ring, bruises, and way of dressing. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't stare at me." the man said as he exhaled smoke. "Mom! Dad!" she said embarrassed, dragging them away.

....

She sat with a stoic expression as they lectured her about seeing him. "You do realize that he doesn't know where I live, right? So having this conversation is a waste of time." her father paused, shaking his head as he realized his error.

"I'm going to the garden." she moved away from them, heading to the backyard. "I was trying to tell you that since the beginning, dear." "I think she wants to put me in a home now." The mother laughs as they head to bed.

Meanwhile, Y/n looked at the gardenias and lavender flowers she planted. "Never thought you were the flower type." she jumped, looking around her area. "Over here!" Y/n stood up, finding the boy right in behind her.

"How did you -" "I have my ways," he replied. "Like I shouldn't be scared at all," she muttered. "Hyunjin." she looked at him again. "My name is Hyunjin." "Y/n." she lent out her hand and he shakes it.

"I'm sorry about my parents. They were always protective of me." "Only daughter?" "and 4 brothers!" she replied, shaking her head. "But 1 is in college like me, 2 are in high school, and then the baby."

She realized that she was talking too much and then just sat on the grass, messing with the petals. "Sorry." "That's okay. I think it's cute." she smiled as he sat with her.

"You want to get out of here?" "And risk getting grounded for 2 months?" "I don't see why not?" he jokes, smiling soon after. "... Give me a second."

Y/n ran back inside, grabbing a paper and pen. She wrote that she was going to a sleepover with the one friend that they actually approved of. She soon ran back outside, taking her purse and house key.

"Ready?" she nodded and he jumps over the fence. "Come on." he waved for her to come.

Sorry, mom and dad...

She jumped the fence and wiped her handed. "Let's go." he grabbed her hand they ran.

...

"You have a nice car." she admired the smooth leather. "Thank you. It took a while to get it." she nodded, laying her head down as she felt the cold air brush against her face. Hyunjin couldn't help but admire her. Then they made it to a drive-in theater.

As they got out she realized something. "Where are your keys?" Hyunjin's eyes widened, looking inside to see that they were still in the ignition. "Open the door!!" she yelled, and as he pulled the handle... The door was locked.
