Wine ages exquisitely as it sits for years in hopes of being open,What happens to the bottles that are never opened? The bottles that are broken before they are opened?
We're complicit in cherishing for the sake of and not for what its worth,
We're exquisitely complicit in knowing we love for looks but stay for show,
Love ages exquisitely as it sits for years in hopes of being felt,
What happens to the love that is never found? The love that is lost before it can thrive?
We're complicit in cherishing the objective of love and not for what it has to offer,
We're exquisitely complicit in knowing we love for ourseleves and others but stay because we believe that's all we have,
Sun and Moon ages exquisitely as it sits for years in hopes of being seen,
What happens to the morning and nights never embraced? The days that are a blur and in a rush?
We're complicit in cherishing the stars and not the reason for them,
We're exquisitely complicit in knowing we love Sun and Moon for who they are but stay for what we can't reach,
You age exquisitely as you sit temporarily in hopes of living,
What happens to those of us who die young? The people who die unheard and unseen until their gone?
We're complicit in cherishing the dead and not the living,
We're exquisitely complicit in knowing we love hard but stay because ...

Brief Description:
I wrote this poem in hopes of understanding what it means to cherish or to be cherished. And I've come to the conclusion that cherishing someone or something is a beautiful thing, but what makes it meaningful is the reason why you are. Not enough people can explain why they cherish things without needing to mention how it appeals to their eye and I think that by getting caught up in the beauty of something- you lose out on the real beauty presenting itself to you. Out of all the things that I listed- you are the only replaceable thing in this universe so understand that you sound make it count while your on Earth. Love hard even if it hurts, dream big even if you fail, and view everything as if it's your last. The message of beauty truly lies within you and you shouldn't take it for granted or miss out due to fear. Practice being fearless and bold- You owe it to yourself to be loved and experience the things that seem impossible. 🧡🧡
