John's POV
My grey clothes were wet, the room was filled with his sobs and he was hugging me too tight. And did I myself feel any emotions? Just a little!

But I couldn't help but hug him back. He apologized to me. But, I didn't know what to say or do!

We stayed like this for an hour until Thomas finally got himself together and pulled away from me.

"I don't want you in prison anymore." he sighed, looking embarrassed.

"And I was just thinking of being sent back to my cell." I thought.

"Then where do you want me to stay?" I asked. "You already took everything from me!" I regretted that last part. But only for a second.

"I want you to stay with me here!" he smiled at me.

"Tom-Mr. Jefferson, the public is still not fine with us together." I stuttered.

"Who cares." he whispered.

I didn't make eye contact, I couldn't.

"You will go back to your cell today, but tomorrow, a room will be set for you." he smiled at me.

He then cuffed my left cheek and kissed the other one. I blushed. He then ordered some gentlemen to take me away.

I smiled as I was led out to the carriage.

"At least I'm not staying in that cell anymore." I thought.

But, I was still confused on why he wanted me to live with him.

"Remember John, he might change his mind later on if he gets sick of you so don't get to excited!" I calmed myself down.

"If the soldiers didn't get there on time..." it was still hard to think of it. "I might...have been dead right now." I sighed.

A/N is you're wondering why I'm not writing "okay", it's because it was first used in 1840 with Martin Van Buren, and this is set in Tommy Jeffs' presidency. So that's why.
