John's POV
I guess Thomas was worried for me for not eating. So, mash potatoes were brought to my room.It was almost four, so I decided to take a walk in the garden. I made sure to stay as close to the shade as possible, the sunlight was still bad for my skin.
I then felt something grad my hand.
"I'm sorry if I'm making you feel uncomfortable, I've just been lonely lately." it was Thomas of course.
"Oh no it's fine! I need company sometimes too!" I smiled.
He let go of my hand and and stroked my hair behind my ear.
"How are you feeling, your first day here?" he asked.
"Nice." I said "It's better than that cell." I tried not to make him feel bad.
"Have you found a new hobby lately?" he tried to start a conversation.
"Does it look like I was let outside?!"
"No, not really." I said.
We just walked down the garden, not uttering a word after that. Until I saw sunlight in front on me. I stopped in my tracks.
"What happened?" Thomas turned around to me.
"T-The sunlight. It will burnt my skin." I looked down at my feet.
"Oh I see." he looked embarrassed.
He then grabbed my hands and sat down with me. He let go one but kissed the other hand.
He smiled when I giggled.
"I'm sorry, my John. I'm sorry." he smiled with small tears in his eyes. After I said that about the cell, I think he got emotional.
"It's fine." I said.
With that, we stayed talking for a few hours. Thomas was talking about his cabinet, saying that he hated all of them. No reason at all.
The sun started going down. It looked like it was 7:45.
"Thomas, it's getting late." I cut him off.
"It is!" he laughed.
I got up before him. He took the hand I offered him.
"Do you want to continue tomorrow?" he asked me?
"Love too!" I giggled.
Without warning, he moved his face to mine. Until our noses touched.
He slowly pressed his lips against mine...and kissed me.
It wasn't aggressive like I'm used to it. It was soft and sweet. For awhile. I then remembered who I was kissing.
Thomas Jefferson.
It took me awhile to kiss back. I then pulled back, but remained close to him.
"I love you, John. I love you." he whispered.
"Can I say the same?" I asked.
"Can you?"
"Can I?"
"I have no idea." I sighed, I slowly let go of him.
I brushed a tear out of his eyes, but he pushed my hand aside.
I felt bad. Terrible.
"Let's go back inside." he didn't look at me.
I sighed and closed my eyes as I walked inside, the cold breeze hitting my face.
"Did you eat anything?" he asked.
"Yes, I did." I said
"Good." he murmured.
It hurt me to see him crying. I wrapped my arms around him, but he pushed me away.
I went to my room.
"Goodnight." he said.
"Thomas it's like 7:50–" he didn't let me finish. He walked away.
I sighed and closed my bedroom door behind me. And sat on my bed.
"Is it my fault? I made him upset. But after everything he's done to me. He had me imprisoned and almost beheaded me."
I sighed and wrapped myself in the covers. After awhile of rolling around, I finally fell asleep.
