Kai's POV
"Are you done?"
"Nope, I have to do some paperwork after this too, so you can wait longer or come by later." Alex said while typing away on her computer.
"Then why the hell did you tell me to come over!" Spending my afternoon watching Alex do her work was not something I enjoyed or had any fun in. I could be doing something more entertaining or productive instead.
Alex looks up from the screen and gives me a blank look. "I don't know I was kind of bored and you would probably be mopping around like you have for the past two years. So I thought, why not?" I glared at her.
"You say that as if you haven't also been mopping around because of April for as long as me." I grabbed a paper from her desk and started making a paper plane with it.
Now it was her turn to glare at me. Two could play this game.
"Thanks for the reminder bitch," she mumbled and turned her attention back to her work on the screen.
Alex had the same luck as me - if not worse - with April. Sometime last year Alex confessed her feelings to April and asked her for a chance. Unfortunately she got rejected. What I know is what Alex told me - and thats it that apparently April said she didn't feel the same way about her.
Jeez even that hurt me.
"Your welcome," I responded and then threw the plane at her. It flew and soon crashed against her forehead. Alex grabbed it, squashed it and threw the now paper ball back on my face. "So fucking rude."
She rolled her eyes and resumed her work.
"It looks like you are no longer interested in my company, so I'm just gonna go." I stood up from the chair and walked to the door.
"Bye," Alex waved uninterested on something other than whatever was on the computer.
I mentally rolled my eyes and without saying anything further - I left her office.
What am I supposed to do now. I thought as I got on the elevator.
Maybe I should get a hobbie - or maybe I should start traveling again.
Traveling sounds good, it would keep me busy and out of the house. Especially out of the house - which means I won't have to see Iliana. Is not that I don't want to see her, I want to. It just hurts seeing her knowing she would act like I don't exist.
Today I decided to not bring my car and walk instead. God knows I could use the distraction.
I was craving coffee, so when I saw a little coffee shop at the other side of the street I decided to go and by me some. Coffee helps me sometimes when I'm feeling restless for some reason.
Not watching where I was going I accidentally bumped into someone, causing the coffee they had in hand to spill all over the floor.
"Fuck- I'm so sorry," I rambled and looked at the person who I bumped into.
"Don't worry its fine." It was a girl, a really beautiful girl. She has shiny grey eyes and dark black hair.
I regained myself, "No is not, please let me buy you another drink."
"You don't have to-"
"I do, I wasn't looking where I was going, please."
The grey eyed girl nodded, "Fine."
We walked to the counter to other the drinks. "Can I get a..." I turn back to the girl, "What do you want?"
She chuckled lightly at my cluelessness, "An espresso."
