Chapter Sixteen

Kai's POV

"We are going to get so fucked up tonight!" Alex exclaimed as we played air hockey.

Today is Alex birthday so we are throwing a party here at her house. She wanted to do it at mine but - one I don't want to deal with all that mess and two Iliana didn't let me... I already asked. This fucking sucks thats my penthouse.

Anyway, I don't get why Alex even wants to use my place if she has fucking awesome house here in the hills. Alex works as a marketing manager in her family's company and does a bunch of other things that I don't know about, I don't really keep up with that.

At first you would think she's a dumb bitch and you're right, she's a dumb bitch with a degree.

"Why are you so quiet?" She asked as she tried to score but failed as I blocked it.

"Well I'm trying to win over here," I said and score against her winning the round.

Alex threw the hockey pad against the table and exhaled. "Yes, I'm sure that was the reason," she said as she ran a hand through her hair.

We got out of the game room to see how all of the preparations were going. "What does that mean?" I asked.

"Nothing is just you've been acting weird lately." 

"How would you know if this is the first time we see each other since the wedding." I responded as she counted the beer barrels.

"Thats the point, we barely see each other now! I knew I would loose you to the married life."

I chuckled at her exaggeration. "Don't be so dramatic Alex, we haven't seen each other because I was on a trip. And married life? You're ridiculous is not as if the blondie and I are on an actual relationship."

"No, but it's just a matter of time before you are."

I scoffed, "As if. Iliana and I are never going to get together, all I want is for this whole thing to be over with and be able to get back to my normal - awesome life."

Alex kept walking with a list on her hand. Where did she get that?

"All I'm saying is, you don't live with a person for three years and expect not to catch feelings at some point." She marked off something on the list and resumed walking.

"What do roommates do then?"

Alex shrugged, "Sometimes they fall in love." She then kept walking around the house - leaving me behind.

Thats not the answer I was hoping for.

I'll admit that Iliana is gorgeous, interesting, intelligent, passionate and can be cute sometimes - most of the times. She also has a temperament on her and slight anger issues along with some perfectionists traits, but all that is what makes her even more captivating and funnier to tease.

But more important she has a boyfriend and zero interest in me in any romantic way. Not that I want her to see me like that or that I see her like that.

I shook my head. I need to stop thinking about her, its getting annoying. I went to the kitchen and grabbed one beer from the fridge.

Tonight I need to finally have some real fun.

"Damn Alex, how many people did you invite?"

"I'm not sure... I just hit send to everyone on my contact list."

The house was packed with people, like a lot of people. It was a big fucking mess.

"What does that matter anyway. Its my fucking birthday party Kai, lets get trashed!" She yelled and then went off elsewhere to do I don't know what.
