"Good job." Zaneri tells me, and then I hear Melio yell.
"Why's he putting himself through this?" Elizabeth cries out.
"Because the power he'd get back is worth all the pain!" Zaneri exclaims.
"I...I want Meliodas to go back to how he was." she eventually admits through gritted teeth.
Meliodas cries out again.
"I can't take any more of this!" Zaneri screams. "I'm bringing Meliodas back!"
Elizabeth runs in front of Meliodas.
"Wait, Zaneri-sama!" she insists.
"Step aside! If he stays in there any longer..." Zaneri snarls.
"I'm sure Meliodas-sama will make it back safely!" Elizabeth exclaims. "Please, have faith in him!"
Zaneri glares at her, her teeth gritted. "You don't get it..."
Elizabeth gasps, and we all turn to Meliodas, who appears to be... crying?
Meliodas opens his eyes. "Hey guys! I'm back!"
"Meliodas...?" Zaneri gasps, her face flushed.
"What're you crying for, Elizabeth?" Melio asks, totally ignoring her.
Elizabeth sniffles. "It's from... seeing you cry..."
Meliodas quickly wipes his face clear. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Zaneri, meanwhile, is still shaken. "If you two have overcome the test, then... that means you really have forsaken all emotion..." Sweat is actually dripping from her face as she speaks.
"What are you talking 'bout, Zaneri? I keep the most important things right here!" Melio gestures to his heart.
"But... how?" Zaneri asks.
"Well, we'll just leave it at that for now." Melio says cheekily.
"We've passed the test." I continue. "So we're getting back our powers now."
We exit the spire, only to see that the others have already gone into the Training Grotto.
I walk over to Hendrickson, that is, after I've heard from Jenna what really happened.
"I heard the story." I tell him. "How you saved Gilthunder and Howzer. You have my thanks, Hendrickson."
He turns to me, and I see he's been crying.
King then asks Jenna to go into the Training Grotto, and Jenna suggests he go with Hendrickson.
King, of course, is absolutely disgusted by this, so Meliodas offers to go with him instead.
"C...captain, you got your power back?!" King exclaims.
"Nope!" I answer for him. "Before he gets it back, he needs to recover a bit of physical strength first."
The two of them enter, and... wait, what? Why on earth are they fighting?!
Gilthunder voices the same thought to Jenna, who just yells out a "How should I know?!"
King manages to scratch Meliodas, and the graze quickly starts spewing blood.
"Salomea! What has King done to Meliodas?! That little graze suddenly got a lot worse in no time!" Jenna exclaims.
"It's King's original power, Disaster." I reply briefly, and Merlin elaborates.
"He can turn the littlest cut into a mortal wound, change poison into something deadly, and increase the size of a tiny tumour. While he can also make trees and plants grow and flourish, it's a fitting magic for the Fairy King who must thin out his forest in order to maintain it."
Jenna then decides it's time to pull them out.
"That's enough, you two!" she growls. "You're coming out right now!"
They exit, and I storm up to them. "You morons!" I snap. "What on earth caused that fight?!"
"We were having a debate about whether we're a boobs kinda guy, or a butt kinda guy, and it got a little heated." Meliodas says, obviously lying. I'll question him later.
"So, you gonna give me back my power any time soon?" Meliodas asks Jenna, who sighs.
"Honestly, I'm this close to telling you know. But oh well."
She summons a giant goddess amber, which is filled with an inky-black substance – Meliodas's power.
"It's huge!" Howzer exclaims.
"Salomea's is bigger." Jenna says, and that shuts him up.
"Meliodas's power is in there?" Hendrickson exclaims.
"Honestly, it was a real pain just getting it in there." Jenna complains.
"Everyone else, stay back, especially you, Salomea." Jenna shoos us away, and I back away, almost to the edge of Istal.
Jenna releases Meliodas's power, and it covers up the whole sky. I hear Howzer exclaim how it's suddenly night, which makes me giggle, and then Zaneri incants another spell, causing all the power to crash down onto Meliodas, who just absorbs it.
*Third Person POV*
The Ten Commandments, in a state of shock, watch from afar as the cloud of inky black vanished.
"This is... no mistaking it... it's him!" Zeldris exclaims.
