*Salomea's POV*

Ban and I begin to speed off, leaving the demons behind, extremely confused.

"How is he still alive?!!" I hear Galand cry.

"Weren't you the one who ate his soul?" Melascula responds, irate.

"This kid... and that traitor... aren't getting away." is Galand's only response, before he leaps after us.

As I watch the destruction ensue behind us, I hear Jericho say "I don't believe it. The town's completely destroyed!"

Hmm. No wonder possessed Elaine hated her so much. Extremely smart, kid.

"Hey, Ban!" Jericho continues. "Explain what's going on here! Wasn't your soul eaten by that monster?"

Suddenly, Ban falls to the ground, dropping Jericho, and I halt in my tracks, gently placing Elaine next to him.

Jericho makes yet another comment, and Ban explains how his father sacrificed his soul???

No idea what that's about, but oh well.

Suddenly, Ban falls on top of Elaine, and my eyes widen. His strength's given out.

Damn it!!

I quickly pull the now extremely heavy Ban off of Elaine, picking him up.

"Pick Elaine up, Jericho." I say, starting to struggle under Ban's immense weight.

"But, Lady Salomea!" she protests. "You're still healing!"

I sigh.

"Yes, but I'm a goddess. I can handle Ban's weight, plus, there's a long way to go. And those two demons are on our backs now, so, the sooner we get out of here, the better."

She nods, all argument vanishing, and bends over, picking up Elaine's body.

*

"Jericho." I whisper, trying not to attract Ban or Elaine's attention. "Jericho."

She looks at me. "What?!"

"Shhhh." I hiss. "I don't want Ban and Elaine to hear us."

"Sorry." she whispers, not sounding sorry at all. "What is it?"

"I'm not much use right now. In fact, I can barely carry Ban. But I have a plan." I reply.

"What is it?" she asks.

"I can give you some of my strength and magic. You'll be able to carry all three of us, and survive most obstacles. But... I'll pass out. Either way, I'm a dead weight."

She nods, surprisingly calm. "If it's for Ban, I'll do it!"

I give her some of my magic, and smile weakly, my remaining strength already fading. "Thank... you..."

*time skip brought to you by Melascula seething with jealousy*

"Sal. Sal. Wake up."

I open my eyes groggily to see Ban shaking me.

"Finally, you're up." he grumbles, before turning away. As I stretch and rise, I see we're on a cart.

"Where ar- wait, Escanor?" I ask, spotting the driver of the cart.

"Hello, Lady Salomea!" he exclaims, clearly embarrassed.

"Nice to see you." I say, before turning to Elaine and Jericho. "Elaine, you look much better!"

She smiles. "All thanks to you, Salome!"

"Huh?" I question.

"Yeah, apparently you can heal people in your sleep." Ban says, turning back to me. "Thanks for that, by the way."

"Strange." I declare. "Oh well."

Arc!

The light flickers, and I glare, defeated.

"Damn it." I hiss. "My power's not fully back yet."

*third person POV, in Vaizel*

"Why are you doing this, Gloxinia?" Drole of the Ten Commandments asks his fellow commandment.

"Well, a lot of people have come here for the prize." Gloxinia answers. "I'm just weeding out the weaker souls, that's all."

"That's not what I meant." Drole sighs. "Did you set up this whole thing just to see Salomea? You are enemies, you know."

"W...what?!!" Gloxinia sputters, blushing. "No! I set it up for the chance to see Meliodas. We are old friends, remember, Drole-kun?"

Drole sighs again, nodding.

*still third person, short time skip brought to you by Gloxie, the adorable little fairy*

"Ban!" Meliodas exclaims.

"Cap'n." is the only reply.

"Cap'n!"

"Ban!"

After their many games, Meliodas turns serious.

"Ban." he says. "Have you come to the Fighting Festival to have a wish granted?"

"No." Ban replies. "I just got dragged into this while helping someone out."

"Helping someone out?"

"Escanor asked me to bring some ale here to Vaizel." Ban sighs.

"You mean... you're with Escanor?!" Meliodas exclaims.

"Yeah, and... Elaine's with us, too."

Meliodas's face morphs into one of pure shock.

"Shocking, isn't it?" Ban laughs. "To be honest, I can barely keep up with everything that's happening."

There's a short pause.

"You got to see the girl you love again, eh? That's great!" Meliodas exclaims.

"No, it's not." Ban grits his teeth. "I tried to kill you."

Meliodas ignores him.

"So where are the others now? Hey, I bet Sal's with you too, right? In that case, we'd better look for all of the others and escape this labyrinth!"

"Cap'n." Ban sighs. "I'm sorry."

There's another pause, this time a long one.

"Let's go, old pal." Meliodas finally says, grinning. "For the ones we need to protect."

"Right." Ban smirks.
