*Salomea's POV*
"You're going to go off by yourself?" Meliodas asks King and I, hands on his hips. "Is it to look for Diane?"
"There's that, too." King sweatdrops. "But also... something's come up that's forcing me... us to have to go."
"Then we'll come too-" Melio offers, but King cuts him off.
"I'm not about to ask for your help!" he yells harshly, and I glare at him.
"I told you, remember?" he continues, calming down slightly. "I don't trust you. Or Salomea for that matter."
I sigh. This is going absolutely nowhere.
"Now, now, now. Don't say that..." Meliodas reasons.
"King! Enough of this!" Gilthunder yells. "What happened in the Village of the Druids?! What is it about Meliodas that you can't trust?!"
Great question. Too bad I already know the answer.
"Everything." Is King's overly dramatic reply. "I'm shocked at how trusting you are... of this secretive guy... who doesn't even begin to explain his backstory, the same being for Salomea."
I shake my head at King as Elizabeth steps forward.
"I'm the same way." she explains. "I don't even know who my real parents were or what I really am. But you, Lady Salomea and Meliodas-sama have all helped me out!"
Poor girl. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but I think she's better off not knowing who her parents were.
"King-sama." she pleads, as a last resort.
"I'm sorry." he says, not even turning back to look at her. "I'm in a hurry."
He then flies through the air at a rapid speed, leaving the door wide open. I sigh, before saluting the others and teleporting through the air to a point not far off from where Ban is. If I teleported right in front of him, it'd freak the hell out of both him and the Jericho girl he's with.
I get there, in time to see him kissing... Elaine? Huh. So she really is alive.
"Elaine!" Ban cries out.
"I wanted to see you for so long... Ban."
I furrow my eyebrows, realising that something's not quite right.
Ban pulls Elaine in for another passionate kiss, while Jericho yells at them from behind. Eh. At least she's not as jealous as other people I know. *cough cough* Melascula *cough cough*.
"I hate you." Elaine suddenly says, stretching her hand out towards Jericho. I knew something wasn't quite right.
Elaine sends a blast of wind at Jericho, and the girl goes flying back.
"Stop it, Elaine!" Ban says, snatching her hand, looking amused. "She's not our enemy."
"No." Elaine counters, flying over to Jericho, who's struggling to get up. "She's our enemy. She's trying to steal you away from me. I... was watching all this time."
Oh well. I had better intervene.
"Hey, Elaine." I say, walking up to her, waving.
She turns to me, smiling.
"Salome!" she cries out, hugging me, before turning back to Jericho. Oh, now I get what's going on.
"Die." she says, before Ban grabs her hand.
"Stop." he says, still smiling.
"Why do you protect her?" Elaine complains.
"You're my woman, Elaine." Ban explains. "No one else is..."
Elaine slices his torso open, looking furious, and Ban falls back with a cry of pain.
"Then why... do you protect this woman?"
Jericho rushes in, trying to intervene, but Elaine flicks her hand and she goes flying back, as her magic continues to attack Ban from all sides.
"I've been watching you from the land of the dead all this time. How you've been talking with her... how... you've been on a journey with her..."
Elaine's face assumes a heartbroken expression as she continues, now shouting the words.
"I wanted to go on a journey with you, too, Ban! That was my dream! And yet... you granted my dream to her so easily. I can't forgive you!"
Ban coughs up blood.
"Elaine... what happened to you?" he questions softly.
"Stupid Ban!" Elaine cries, and her magic slams into him again.
I grab Elaine, and pull her down to the ground, so that she can't do anything.
"S...stop, Sal! Elaine isn't normal right now!" Ban cries, but I ignore him.
"Normal or not, I don't care." I say coldly, looking down at Elaine. "Do you really love Ban?"
"I love him!" she cries, repeating the words over and over.
"Look, Elaine. I have someone I love too. But I know he will never look at me in that way. Now listen carefully, Elaine. I would do almost anything for the person I love. No matter who else he loves. But I would never, never hurt him! I would never intentionally do anything to bring pain to him!"
"But without you, Elaine," I continue, "Ban is nothing. He only thinks of you, Elaine. He only loves you. But the fact that you're allowing yourself to be controlled so easily shows how shallow your feelings seem to be!"
Elaine suddenly snaps up, throwing me back, summoning a tornado around her figure. "Someone...stop me!" I hear her faintly cry.
Ban grabs her, hugging her, and almost immediately, her rage is quelled. I smile softly at them, watching Ban whisper something to Elaine, before she flops down.
"Elaine!" he cries.
"No..." I whisper, and he turns to me at an inhuman pace. "The vengeful soul revival technique that Melascula used is a forbidden skill that brings back the dead by amplifying their regrets and derives its life source from rage that has nowhere else to go."
"So you're saying..." Ban begins.
"Yes. Once Elaine resists her rage or regret, she may die." I finish.
"That's right." a familiar voice comes from my left.
"There aren't many souls that can resist my magic, so I came to take a look for myself. But I found something even rarer..." Melascula continues, Galand beside her.
"So tell me. Are you the Eight Deadly Sins that Fraudrin told us about?"
"Jericho. Take care of Elaine." I say, before Ban gives the unconscious girl to the Holy Knight Apprentice.
"Tell me who you are first." Ban snarls, and I clearly hear Galand laugh.
"They're two of the Ten Commandments." I say quietly, yet clear enough for everyone to hear. "Melascula, the Faith. And Galand, the Truth."
"I'll fucking kill you." is Ban's only response.
