My father kept asking about William at Dinner and I couldn't for the love of God figure out why on Earth was William Fallon relevant in our dinner conversation.I placed the fork and knife in the table and looked up. "Dad, he is a jerk." I blurted unable to resist the bothering questions anymore.
My mother who had been silent all throughout dinner perked up at this. "That is no way to talk young lady." Her eyes widening as she spoke.
I rustled loudly,"I'm sorry mom."
"Why have you acquired such a revolting opinion on the young Fallon Liese? I have only heard good things about him." My dad's voice came off offended or rather surprised.
"Of course you have a high opinion on him. You don't know him dad. He is so arrogant and full of himself. He called me a drama queen!"
"Well," my sister cut in. "It's not like he was lying." She shrugged. "Besides, he is hot. Like, really hot. " She added later which only made my mom's eye bulge even bigger and my dad to chuck on his food.
"Pamela!" Was the only thing my mom could manage to say. Then, she turned to me. "I'm sure it was a misunderstanding. Anneliese, I do not appreciate you having a bad relationship with one of our friend's family."
I narrowed my eyes at her and dared to ask what had been in my mind for a while. "There is no relationship here. And since when? As far as I'm concerned, our families hold a rivalry the moment the Fallon's topped dad's enterprise along with the Pontair's."
My parents shared a look before nodding. My dad was the one who spoke, "You girls need to know something."
I knew they were hiding something for us!
Mom placed her plate aside and cleared her throat. "Your dad has decided to work with Theodore." She announced.
What?
I looked at Pamela only to catch her already staring at me, but she shrugged letting me know she too didn't know what was going on.
"Indeed," dad carried on. "Roger Pontair has gone off limits. We are talking about corruption young ladies. He stole confidential documents, all my ideas! They were there, and he has stolen Theodore's ideas as well. You see all these new hotels in Dubai and Australia with marvelous structures. They have all been constructed with our innovations!"
Noticing that dad had started to vent out his anger. Mom placed her hand over his to tranquilize him and continued the explanation. "The point is, your dad and Theo talked about this and reached to the conclusion and they should unite. Therefore, they have started to plan a new hotel chain. Entirely based on newfound technology, comfort and the only two investors are your dad and Mr. Fallon. We believe that this new business will be able to take down Pontair from his number one spot."
"Wow, that's a lot to take in." Pamela puffed her hair out of her face and looked at mom. "Is that why you insist on us having a good relationship with the Fallon's?"
I face palmed myself before talking to my sister. "You think?" All sarcasm intended.

I finished combing my hair and headed outside where the chauffeur was probably waiting for me.
"Anneliese." My mom surged from the living room before I could turn the knob of the door. "Just to let you know ahead of time. I invited the Fallon family to dinner."
"You did what?" The volume of my voice raising to a unlikely high level.
She walked to me and fixed the black tie that went with my uniform. "You heard me. I'm telling you this because I want you to be presentable by six. It is a very important dinner and you need to be here."
