[cw; gore]
Walking around the city and trying to distract your mind from the previous events you came across a cafe, checking out your wallet for some money, you did have enough to buy a coffee, you needed to stay awake after all.
Ordering one black coffee from the cafe you decided to look for a seat inside since the weather was getting bit bad and the men were most likely still looking for you, turning your head you saw how somewhat crowded the cafe was, however, there was a spot opposite someone reading a newspaper, you couldn't see his face but you decided to go sit there.
"Is this seat taken?" you asked him carefully, "oh not at all, please sit down." You swear you remembered his voice from somewhere as you sat down still seeing the man reading a newspaper that was blocking your view from seeing him.
You looked out of the cafe window seeing that it had started to rain outside, "do you know what makes someone a sick person and what makes someone innocent?" you were somewhat surprised that he had decided to start a conversation with you, "well I think someone would be sick in the head if they did something unspeakable on purpose," you turned your head back at the man still seeing him holding up the newspaper "and someone is innocent when they have no ill intentions." You finished, still somewhat confused by the question, "good response," he replied, "here's another question, if you press your hand against this newspaper, do you feel my hand or the paper?"
He held up the newspaper now in one hand letting it still cover his face as you saw his hand press against the paper from the other side, lifting your hand bit nervously you pressed yours to his, "well?" he asked, "I feel the paper and your hand?" you said confusedly, suddenly your eyes widened as he dropped the newspaper on the table, "the real answer is you don't feel the danger behind something you consider harmless."
Kira said while locking his eyes to yours, "and please do drink your coffee before it gets cold, I hate it when people waste food." He spoke while putting his hand on top of yours, nervously looking at him you took a sip of your drink before putting it back down on the table.
He leaned closer to your face, "you know, I hate looking people in the eyes usually because the eyes show what the person is truly like on the inside, but something about your eyes doesn't make me feel that, they are unreadable to me."
You stared at him as you felt your hands start to shake from nervousness, "but I think you can read mine as clear as day, tell me what can you read from them." he said before leaning back on the chair still resting his hand on yours, "that you're sick in the head," you whispered with concern in your voice, "no that's what you remember me for because of my actions, take a closer look and think again." he leaned towards your face again, your noses almost now touching.
You looked into his deep blue eyes, thinking what you should answer, they looked dead, no they- "They hold emptiness within them," you said somewhat surprised with your answer, "yes like a cemetery worker's almost." he moved his head to the side of your face, "but in my case, I'm the one bringing the customers in," he whispered, sending shivers down your spine, he pulled his face away from yours again.
You turned your head to look around the cafe, you could see the cafe get emptier as people had started to leave, "I'm like a faceless personality in a faceless city, I do have my problems but you make me breathe better somehow." you looked back at him noticing he was looking outside watching the rainfall.
"What do you mean?" he didn't move his gaze from the window as he spoke, "you're giving me a new face, along with with a new nose and mouth that can grasp the air to the lungs, I'm meaning you're someone I see my future with someone that can bring my quiet life more benefits."
You felt creeped out by him, you stood up removing your hand from his, he turned to look at you with an emotionless face, "you fear me, it's expected but you shouldn't we are surprisingly alike," he said, "how am I anything like you," you said your voice shaking a bit, "you leave behind rotting bodies as i do," he finished before getting up and fixing his tie, you backed away before turning around, and walking towards the exit and opening it, you could see him follow after you in the corner of your eye.
You walked into the rain, it was pouring down hard and the streets were becoming darker as the mist started to appear, you were sure he was still following you.
Kira looked at you as your form was becoming smaller the further you walked away from him, it was like a mental torture for him, his hair fell on his face as they got wet, he walked after you, not caring about getting soaked in the rain. He saw the city lights and people walking past him but he couldn't recognize them from mannequins of clothing stores, his attention was all set on you.
He had read of various love stories and love poems he had gotten from his past admirers but he hadn't felt what their love felt like, he saw you turn around the corner, he followed after you, he saw you stop to catch your breath, he walked towards you, he had hunted down multiple women in his life, he would strangle them with ropes and his bare hands, he'd watch the life vanish from their eyes, as he cut their hands from their bodies to satisfy his murderous side.
he was right behind you now, you hadn't noticed him, he stopped moving while looking at you, maybe you were his cure he had been seeking for his sick mind, yes, he would take care of you, go to st. gentleman's to get food and live a peaceful life with you, he didn't want children as he found them quite annoying but he would love to have you as his wife.
He couldn't believe what he was thinking was he finally finding his human side after all the sickness he had endured in his life?
he watched you start to walk again, he just stood there not following after you, he didn't want to hunt you down as he had done to so many, you were becoming something much greater to him.
he cursed under his breath as he watched you dissapear into the mist leaving him behind in the pouring rain, he moved the strands of his hair back before turning around to seek cover from the rain, he needed a explanation on you, he couldn't read you at all anymore. He could feel something warm on his cheek before his lips curled into a small smile, yeah he needed to find a way to read you and then you could be his till the end of time.
