Nasir's pov
When we got off the ship, I saw something. It was like I was seeing young Leilani and I when we ran away from our home when it was attacked. I saw us run up to the captain of the nearest ship and begged them to take us to the region we were in before this trip started. "Nasir?" Raven said knocking me from my thoughts. "Sorry.. A memory came back to me." I said softly.
She nodded at me. "I have to get going. I can't stay in town for too long because it's hard to hide, you know." She said winking a bit. We knew what she meant and we nodded. "Plus I came to this region to see someone." She said.
As we walked together I couldn't stop seeing these things of the past. Certain areas of the town reminded me of what happened all those years ago. I was only nine at the time of the attack. And now I'm seventeen... Time really does fly, but why does it feel slower to me? "Are you okay Nasir?" Leilani asked me. "Yes I'm okay, just remembering everything that happened to us all those years ago." I said to her.
Leilani and I decided that we were going to walk the trip since the towns were usually not to far until we started getting closer to the capital. Towns and villages were more spread out the closer you got to the capital. We don't know why that is, but it's the truth. I've always wondered why our region was like this, but my dad told me it's because the other villages thought it would protect the capital a lot better.
