Chapter X

~town 10, Maplemire~

Nasir's pov

Watching the visions run through my mind over and over again keep me lying awake at night. I do get sleep at night, it's just my dreams are haunted by everything that's happening. "Nasir are you sure you're okay?" Leilani asked me. "Yes I'm sure, just spacing out thinking." I said softly looking at her.

I sighed softly and she looked at me. "Nasir you really need to take a break. There's a lake near here. How about you go there and I'll meet you in the next town on the way to the capital?" She asked looking at me. I looked back at her and nodded. "I'll grab my stuff and some of the supplies and I'll see you in the next town." I said to her.

She nodded and we walked back to the the inn we were staying in. I got my stuff and some supplies then went walking to the lake after saying goodbye to Leilani. As I walked, I couldn't stop letting my mind roam. I had a jacket on with a hood and I had my baseball cap on. I had my usual jeans and shoes on as well. When I reached the lake, my hood came off as I looked at the water. The lake was pretty.

I sat on a rock near the lake and I thought about everything that has happened. I heard a new song play in my head. It reminded me of a sad song. I listened to the song as I thought. "What are you thinking about Nasir? I may not be able to give you the best advice, but I'm here if you need someone to talk to." Messiah said sitting beside me.

"I think I just need time alone." I said to him. "I'll let you have it. I'll be back when you need me." Messiah said disappearing. I nodded at him before he fully disappeared and then looked out into the water thinking.
