you fall asleep on her lap

"You sure you wanna watch that movie tonight? You look awfully tired, darling." Liz said as you settled beside her on the couch.

Your long day had worn you out completely, but you and Liz have had this night planned out for the last few days. It gave you both something to look forward to when you felt overwhelmed. Some quality time together was something you'd never pass up on, no matter how tired you might be.

"I'm sure. I've missed you. I wanna spend time with you."

Liz cupped your chin and pecked your lips delicately. "I've missed you too."

And with one more peck to your lips, she was turning the movie on. The intro began to play and Liz was starting to get really excited! She's been wanting to see this movie since it came out and now, finally, you get to watch it together.

You felt excited, too. However, your excitement was becoming slightly overshadowed by the tiredness you felt. Your day was so long, so hectic. Your energy had been drained. But you were determined to watch this movie! You've been looking forward to it!

You decided to make yourself a little more comfortable by pulling the blanket from the back of the couch over your lap. You looked toward Liz, admiring the beautiful smile on her face and the laugh that would fall from her lips when something would happen. It seemed that you were more interested in admiring her than watching the movie.

"Staring at me?" She smirked as she looked at you.

"Yes. Can you blame me? You're so beautiful." You replied and then laid your head on her lap. Her fingers combed through your hair and your eyes locked for a moment. She kissed you softly before turning her attention back to the movie.

As much as you wanted to watch it, you were too exhausted. It became clear that you weren't gonna make it through the movie. Your eyes were slipping shut and you let a yawn quietly escape from your mouth.

So relaxed by the sound of her laugh and her fingers brushing through your hair, you soon started to drift off to sleep.

It was a few minutes later when Liz realized how quiet you were. She knew you were tired, so she didn't really think much of it.

"This movie better than you thought it'd be, baby?" She wondered and looked down at you, only to find that you were sound asleep.

She giggled quietly and kissed your head, admiring how adorable you looked sleeping on her lap. "Love you, Y/N. Sleep tight." She whispered and looked back at the tv to finish the movie while she let you sleep.
