you wake her with kisses

Your heart began to beat faster in your chest when you awoke to Liz trying to hold onto you a little tighter than before. You squeezed your eyes shut when you first tried to open them and the sun hit them. You still felt tired and as much as you wanted to just close your eyes and go back to sleep, one glance at the clock told you that you couldn't.

It wasn't that you had work or important meetings ahead. But rather that you and Liz have plans for breakfast at your favorite spot this morning and you weren't about to sleep the day away when you've been looking forward to this moment for so long!

You squealed excitedly. You were about to jump out of bed and go brush your teeth and get ready for the day when you felt Liz tighten her arms around you again. Her grip on you wasn't painful, but it was enough to keep you from leaving the bed.

She suddenly laid her head on your shoulder. Her warm breath fanned against your skin and a chill to run along your shoulder blades.

Looking back at the clock, you realized you didn't have much time till breakfast changed to lunch and although you really wouldn't mind that, breakfast at this spot is your favorite and you didn't want to miss out!

You contemplated on what to do for a moment until an idea popped into your brain.

You craned your neck and let your eyelashes flutter against her cheek. It clearly tickled her skin, judging by how she loosened her grip before rolling onto her back altogether.

You took a moment to cherish her. Though the sight was one you're lucky enough to get to wake up to almost every morning, you could never get used to it. You felt like the luckiest girl in the world to wake up beside her every day.

You hovered over her and planted a kiss to her lips. You pulled away to trail them down to her jaw, then down to her neck. She stirred when she felt your lips on her skin and you looked up at her just in time to see her smile.

"Honey? It's time to wake up."

She whined and laid her forearm over her eyes.

"C'mon, baby. Don't do this. Please? You promised me breakfast at my favorite spot."

She let out a soft sigh; both from knowing that you were right and also from the continuous kisses being left on her skin.

"I know I did." She whispered as she opened her eyes. She blinked a few times to try to adjust to the sunshine. "So bright." She mumbled and you chuckled in response before kissing under both her eyes.

They opened wide and she put her arm around you and pulled you in for a kiss.

"Good morning."

"Good morning!" You replied and pecked her lips softly before pulling back. "I'm hungry! Are you wanting to go yet?"

She nodded and you fell back onto your spot. She kissed your forehead lovingly before grabbing your hand.

"Let's get ready to go, cutie. I promised you breakfast and I never break my promises," she said with a happy feeling in her heart as you cheered excitedly, ready for the morning ahead with her.
