Chapter 11: Trust

Lukas's POV

I was in dining hall in line to get today's breakfast.

"Today's breakfast is Hawaiian Italian fusion casserole."

"Aren't these the leftovers from yesterdays challenge?" I raised an eyebrow.

"YEAH THAT'S RIGHT! YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT!" Chef yelled in my face.

"N-not at all sir" I scratched the back of my head and then picked up the tray. I took a seat next to Gwen.

"Need a little echinacea?" Gwen smirked at Heather.

"Very funny. You think you can just lock me up in the freezer and get away with it? I am gonna make you sorry that you ever met me." She glared.

"Too late." I added with a shrug.

"You are such a- ACHOO! UGH! I hate this place."

I stared at my plate of food. I gave it a small sniff.

"I'm not sure of I should eat this." I stated.

"Don't. I just ate a tiny bit of it. I don't think Hawaiin and Italian foods blend well." Gwen stated.

"Good to know. I'm just gonna get coffee."

I got up out my seat and headed to the coffee maker. I saw Courtney and Duncan arguing about something. I shrugged it off and grabbed a mug and poured the coffee. I sat back down and took a sip.

"This is like the only non-trash thing this place has." I commented.

"I know. It's one of the only things that makes this place bearable." Gwen said.

"Want me to go make you a cup?" I asked.

"Sure. With this trash, I need all the help I can get."

I gave her a nod and got up from my seat.

Trent's POV

I got my breakfast from Chef and began heading over to where we sit for breakfast. I was going to sit next to Gwen but I saw Lukas take a seat next to her. I  watched him hand her a cup of coffee.

"Thanks." She grinned

/Trent:"I thought Gwen and me had something special but I don't know it feels like she's fading on me. She hangs out with Lukas so much. I mean, they have so much in common. But, I can't give up on Gwen. I like her a lot. She's amazing."\

I watched Gwen and Lukas sharing jokes and laughing together. I gathered up my confidence and smiled.

"Hey guys. How's it ha-" I started but tripped over my shoe lace and my tray of food went flying.

I got up from the floor and heard a laugh from Heather. I saw that my food got on Gwen and Lukas.

"Wow, nice shot Trent." Heather let out a laugh.

"Seriously?" Lukas grumbled under his breath.

"I-I. It was an accident." I apologized.

"Luke, it was just an accident. He got me too." Gwen patted him.

"I know. It's fine. I'm gonna go." Lukas heavily sighed and walked out.

"I better go to. I don't wanna smell like Hawaiian Italian fusion casserole for the whole day." Gwen said getting up.

I was going to say something but I just didn't and watched her leave. I heavily sighed and sat down.
