Chapter 23: Ditched in the forest

Lukas's POV

I woke up to the sound of Heather panicking.

"What, who's that? Where are we?" Heather asked.

I sat up and saw that we were in the middle of nowhere.

"How did we get here?"Duncan asked.

"Chris?"Gwen asked.

"Mommy!" Owen hoped.

"Please don't tell me we're stranded again."I grumbled, rubbing my eyes. 

"EVERYBODY JUST SHUT UP! HOW YOU GOT HERE IS NOT YOUR CONCERN"Chef yelled coming down from a helicopter. 

Me and Gwen exchanged a look.

"What happened to Chris?"Gwen asked.

"None of your gosh darn business what happened to Chris, I'm in charge now." Chef yelled.

"Again? Seriously?"I groaned.

"DARN RIGHT I'M SERIOUS!  And I'm gonna make you wish you were never born. Your mission is to find your way out of the forest or die trying"Chef told us.

"Real creative. Didn't we already do a challenge like this before the teams merged?"I raised an eyebrow.

Chef gave me a look and I stayed quite. Damn he's intimidating. 

"You can't be serious. We will die."Heather said.

/Gwen:"They left us in the woods alone again with Heather. I'd rather go swimming in the shark-infested water."\

"Here's how it works. Team one: delinquent, blondy, and chubby. Team two: Grim and grimmer. Everything you need is in these bags. You'll navigate your way north to base camp. The first team to tag the camp totem pole wins."Chef said.

"Hey, that's not fair they have three people against our two."Heather pointed.

"There's no 'fair'in survival. You get what you get. And here's a tip, better set up camp before sundown because once nightfall hits you won't even see your trembling hand in front of your terrified face unless you got night vision goggles, but you don't"Chef laughed as I rolled my eyes.

"OH haha. Very funny."I grumbled with clear sarcasm.

"Oh please, please don't leave us here I'm begging you we won't survive."Duncan begged.

"Grab a hold of your gut soldier."Chef told Duncan.

"This is totally bonkers. We'll be scarf down by a grizzly."Owen said.

"Oh I wouldn't worry about that. You wish you saw a grizzly once you meet up with old sasquatchanakwa. He's one mean mamajama."Chef said, getting on the helicopter."Good luck troops. Try not to die!"

Our beds we're suddenly taken from us.

"Well, there goes our option of sleeping it off."I commented.

"This isn't legal! You can't do this!"Heather yelled.

"Hey peaches, file it with the network lawyers." Duncan said tossing grabbing Owen and began running off.

I followed behind them since we're a team and all.

/Duncan:"I gotta say, I was jazzed to be paired with Owen and Lukas. Lukas is pretty chill, and if we run into a grizzly I know who he'll pick to be dipping in barbecue sauce."\

"I hate to question your sense of direction, but where are we going?" I asked Duncan.

"I just wanted to get away from the girls. psych them out a little, you know?"Duncan stated.
