Percy's POV
I woke up to the smell of lemons. Instantly recognizing it as the smell coming from Annabeth's hair. She had always had a fear of spiders and she learned from her mom when she was little that spiders didn't like the smell of lemons so from that day on she always used Lemon-scented shampoo. It had grown on me over the years and it had become my favorite smell in the world.
Annabeth and I were tangled together under the covers of my bed. Arms locked around each other, chests close together, legs intertwined and my head was laying against hers swarmed by her soft tangled hair.
I moved my head to look at my clock. It was 9 AM. Annabeth needed to be at the airport by 10:30. I looked back at her and kissed her forehead lightly. She didn't move. I unwrapped one of my arms from around her and played with her hair. After a minute she stirred. She groaned and snuggled her head into my chest. I smiled wildly.
"What time is it?" She mumbled into my chest.
"9." I said.
"Hmm great" She muttered.
She lifted her head up to look at me.
I smiled. She grinned back at me.
"Well I guess I should get ready. My Parents will be here soon." She said.
Her parents were driving over here and my mom and I were gonna drive them to the airport.
I nodded my head still staring at her. She laughed.
"Percy?" She said grinning.
"Mmhmm?" I hummed
She pointed to our tangled bodies.
I blushed. "Oh, right." I said quickly. She laughed at me and we detached ourselves from each other. She headed off to the bathroom leaving me laying on my bed thinking about how I was gonna tell her how I felt.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We had been at the airport for maybe 20 minutes now. They had gone through security and everything and now we were waiting by the gate to their plane.
Our parents were talking nearby. I swore they were smiling off and on at one another. Why would they be smiling? The Chases were moving that's not a smiling matter!
I turned to face Annabeth who was beside me.
Annabeth looked at me her eyes less bright than usual.
"I'm really gonna miss you Annabeth." I say grabbing her hand with mine.
"I'm gonna miss you too Seaweed Brain." She said with a small sad smile. She pulled me into a tight embrace. I held her tight against me, wondering if I would ever hug her again, let alone ever see her again. I held onto her like she was the only thing keeping me alive, which is pretty much true.
Just then the speakers blared.
"Flight 309, take off in 15 minutes!"(A/N: Lets just say that means they have 10 minutes to get on the plane. I've never been on a plane before, I don't know the airports ways.)
"That's us." Annabeth muttered pulling out of our hug. Her parents began walking down the gate hall.
Annabeth gave me one more small smile before turning around and heading after her parents.
Come on Percy! Come on! I yelled to myself. Annabeth got about 10 steps away before I called out to her. She turned around and looked at me. Her parents also stopped and looked at me.
I took a few steps towards her.
"Percy I got to go." She said pointing towards the hall.
I looked to my mom and she smiled at me.
Then I looked back at Annabeth and decided to take my shot while I still could.
I quickly walked over to her taking big strides. She looked confused, shocked, and surprised to say the least. I saw her parents smile at us. Once I reached her I quickly wrapped my arms around her waist bringing her close to me. Then I hastily, but gracefully, smashed my lips onto hers. I felt her freeze in my arms for a second. Then she she slid her hands up my chest and rested them on the back of my neck, bringing me closer to her. Our lips moved together in synch like we had been kissing for years. I was filled with so many emotions. I felt like I was falling and flying all at the same time. My brain felt like it was melting, but in an indescribable way that made me never want the kiss to end. We kissed slowly like we had forever to be with each other and I couldn't help but hope that was true. When I came back to the land of the living, somewhat, I heard cheering and clapping coming from our parents and also random strangers around the part of the airport we were in.
I pulled my lips away from hers slowly. Resting my forehead against hers. We were both breathing heavily.
"Just in case I never get to do that." I breathed out.
She laughed a little and lifted her head to look at me.
"Percy I'm only leaving for two weeks." She said with a happy, but amused smile.
I stared at her sullenly. If only she knew.
Then our parents came to stand by us. Mr. Chase put a hand on my shoulder. I broke apart from Annabeth, but left one arm around her waist, keeping her close to me.
Mr. Chase gave me a sad smile.
"Percy were not moving." He said. Annabeth looked between us confused.
I was confused too. I looked to my mom.
"Oh Percy don't be mad. We just couldn't take you guys not telling each other how you felt any longer. It was truly driving us nuts. So we came up with the idea of telling you that they were moving and not just going on vacation. Please forgive us." She said pleadingly.
I looked down at Annabeth who just gave me a small smile and shrugged.
"It's ok mom I'm not mad. But you guys sure are cruel when you want to be. " I said.
Annabeth laughed beside me and rubbed my back comfortingly.
"Last call for flight 309!!" The speaker blared above us.
Mr. and Ms. Chase smiled at me one more time before heading down the gate again.
I faced Annabeth again, looking down at her lovingly.
She put her hands on either side of the back of my neck and I put my hands on her hips.
"We'll talk about this when I get back." She smiled.
I grinned back at her. She pulled me in for one last final kiss. It was short and sweet, but also loving and passionate. Our lips locking like the two last pieces of puzzle. She broke away with a wide grin and her eyes shining.
She unwrapped herself from me and walked after her parents.
"Call me!" I called after her with a smirk and made a phone sign with my hand. She looked back and grinned at me, waving her hand up in the air as a final good bye.
I felt absolutely amazing!
My mom kept apologizing, but I told her it was fine because it brought Annabeth and I together. Although we weren't actually together. Were we?
