Chapter 23 | misa misa

Sitting beside L at the University, you looked over his shoulder at the book he was reading. Honestly it was kinda boring. But maybe that's just because you like more wild adventure fantasy books. Today wasn't a very comfortable day for you. You had phantom wings.

That's when a winged being is in their human form but they can still feel their wings as if they were in their winged form. Your wings are a big sore today, probably because when you woke up you'd somehow managed to get one caught down the side of the bed.

"God I can't wait to get back to the hotel and just spread my wings out" you sighed.

"Still sore?" L asked.

"Yeah, I dunno what I did to them. Probably just slept weird"

L closed the book, looking around for Light. Spotting him down the path.

"Hey can you put my book in your bag?"

"Sure" you replied, taking it from him as he waved Light over.

You stuffed the book next to your mirror and wallet. Careful to make your mirror hidden from sight. You walked over to Light with L, seeing Ryuk hanging around in the background. You couldn't talk to him without drawing attention to yourself though.

"I didn't think you'd be here" Light said.

"Well as long as I don't get killed University isn't all that bad" L replied.

"Yeah I think dying I won't be fun regardless" you snickered.

Your phantom wings were getting really annoying now, they NEEDED to stretch out. You flexed you're back in attempt to make the stuffiness stop.

"You ok there?" Light questioned.

"Oh yeah... just slept funny and now my back hurts" you replied.

"Hey, wanna get some cake from the cafeteria? I'm starving" L jumped in.

Of course he was. His mind was probably on cake 24/7.

"Yeah why not-" Light replied.

Right when you were all about to head in that direction, a voice that was slightly familiar called out.

"LIGHT!"

You and L turned to find a blonde goth with two pigtails skipping toward the three of you. She looked familiar...

"Uh- Misa what are you doing here?" Light asked.

"I have a break for work so I thought I'd come see you!"

Misa! Of course. She's the girl on all the magazines and billboards. A model who just released her first album and has started to be cast in movies. Why would Light know Misa?

"These your friends?" She asked.

"Uh, yeah. This is (y/n), that's Ryuga" Light replied.

A strange aura hit you, as Light talked about L 'having the same first and last name as the idol'.

You glanced over your shoulder, and just as you thought... another shinigami. She looked at you, knowing you could see her, probably able to feel your aura too. But both of you knew that you couldn't say anything about it without drawing attention to yourselves. Of course, that's how Light knew Misa. She was the second kira. You had to tell L this. You turned to face the group again and found L slightly giggling at Misa, you gave him a confused look.

"Light..." he said.

"Yeah?"
