The rest of the party passed by in a blur of dancing, running, shouting, screaming, rocking out and various other things.

My alarm went off the next morning and I groaned. I wasn't even drunk last night but I hated the idea of going to school after so little sleep.

I turned my alarm off and sat up, stretching.

Ollie and Kerry had made it home safe. And I had crashed on my bed as soon as I got back, Connor was already zonked.

I watched as he stretched as well.

'Good night last night?' He asked me.

'It was... adequate.' I commented, with a sly smile.

'You think you can hold a better party than that?' He asked, his eyebrows rising in mock surprise.

'Perhaps. But there's no way I'm holding another party any time soon. The house will collapse and so will I. You forget that some people actually need sleep to function.' As if my body was backing up my argument, I yawned loudly and stood up.

I started grabbing clothes out of my wardrobe, I really couldn't be bothered with what I wore today. I was too tired to care. Everyone would look like crap anyway.

I headed to the bathroom, ran a comb through my hair before heading downstairs.

'Any chance you didn't get much sleep last night?' My mum asked cheerfully.

'Ugh. Nowhere near enough. I blame Connor.'

She looked at me, an expression in her eyes which I recognised and I laughed.

'Cause he held the party, mother.' I snorted. 'You're so disgusting.'

'Yeah, yeah, whatever.' She laughed, obviously joking, and slid a plate of pancaked towards me.

'Did I mention how much I love you, mom?' I asked and she laughed.

'Yeah I know. I'm the greatest mom on Earth and you love me more than you love those pancakes but I'm still not getting them because you're a growing boy and you had a rough night last night that wasn't your fault because a man came and put a gun to your head and said if you didn't hold a party he'd shoot you.'

I laughed. 'You even remember my excuse! Umm... I mean... Perfectly valid reason!'

We both just laughed and I started digging into my pancakes.

'Connor! Breakfast!' My mum shouted.

'Good morning.' My step-dad, Liam, smiled at me.

'Morning.' I answered with a slight smile, before returning to my pancakes.

'Morning, honey.' My mum greeted him.

I finished my pancakes and was about to clear my dishes when Liam stopped me.

'I'll get those.' He said. 'You go get ready for school. Connor will NOT forget to pick you up today. I'll make sure of it.'

I nodded and headed upstairs to make sure I had everything that I needed.

I walked in the room then walked straight back out again.

'EW! CONNOR!' I yelled.

'What?' He asked innocently.

'You could have warned me you were getting ready. I've just nearly had my eyes burned.'

He laughed. 'Calm down drama queen, you wouldn't have seen anything.'
