Daryl POV
" What's up lover boy" I called down to Carl who was flirting with spring once again. Their group went out hunting this morning, it felt weird not being asked to come, I had always fed the group when we were alone on the road. I walked into the kitchen and saw someone sitting at the table. " Mornin" I greeted. Maggie turned around, " Mornin Daryl Beth still sleeping?." "Yea, she was pretty tired." Anyone would be after last night. I sat down at the table with her and tried to start a serious conversation. "Maggie, I gotta ask you something." What is it?" She asked, sounding quite scared. "I swear to god Daryl if you hurt Beth I will cut it off..." "No its not that.." I pulled out the wooden ring I had made before we got here and showed it to Maggie. it was perfectly shaped for Beth's finger and it had the word promise carved into it. " oh Daryl it's so gorgeous" Maggie exclaimed. " Its her wedding ring"I stated.
"wait your asking my permission to marry her?" Maggie asked
" uh.... yeah I guess I am" I replied.
" well Daryl she is my little sister and I don't want anyone to hurt her.... and it seems that you won't. Daddy would want her to be happy and with who she loves and I would hate to step into the way of love.you two seem quite happy together and I suppose because of this you may marry my little sister."
" thanks mags " I said getting up and giving her a half hug before I went up stairs to talk to Beth. When I entered the room Beth was sitting up in bed reading. i sat down on the bed beside her and she closed her book and put it on the beside table.
" Hey " she said as she pushed my bangs out of my face.
" Hey " I said back as I played with her hand.
"whats up?" she asked.
" can you get dressed and meet me outside in about half an hour?" I asked and she gave me a puzzled look. " just trust me " I assured.
"okay I'm gonna go take a shower then I'll be right with you" she said giving me a swift kiss on the lips.

what am I going to say when I ask her. I'm horrid with words.Oh god this is not going to go well. I'm gonna mess it up then she'll say no.
" hey babe what did you want" Beth came up from behind me.
" oh...um mm lets go on a walk in the forest it will be pretty." I answer and immediately regret my use of words. she laughed then grabbed my hand intertwining our fingers.
" Okay" she answered and we began to walk. all around us was lush greenery. the trees were tall and the leaves were a bright green. I stopped in my tracks. yes this is the perfect place. luscious greenery everywhere, wildflowers, this meadow was the place.
"Daryl why'd ya stop " she asked with a worried look.
" Because I wanna ask you something" I then turned around to face her and got down on one knee.If I was doing this, I was going to do it right for her. She looked at me with a confused look on her face but as soon as I started speaking the emotion turned to something I had never witnessed before.
" Beth, I have never felt this with anyone in my life, no one has ever loved me like you do hell no ones ever even liked me as much as you do. You know I'm scared of every feeling I've ever felt but this right here, with you this feeling I never want to let go.I fell in love with you the first time I saw you I just didn't let my self realize it till that day in the funereal home. Beth I love the shit out of you" I paused and as she giggled at my latest comment I grabbed the ring out of my back pocket. when I turned back to her, her eyes were starting to tear up and she had a huge smile on her face." Bet when I said I promised to wait for you whenever your ready I meant it and when I say I promise to love you forever I mean it .And I guess I'm hoping you love the shit out of me two. Beth do you think you could marry me and make me as happy as I am now .forever" She nodded. As she cried I slipped the ring on to her finger. Then it happened the loud shrill of a shotgun.
"BANG" a gun shot went off and Beth had fallen to the ground. I could see her hand clasping her side as she gasped for air. I fell to her side and looked at the gunsht wound. it was a shot gun that got her it was a pretty bad wound and moving her would just make it worse
"I need to go get Maggie she has medical training ill be back as fast as I can please just try not to move it will only make it worse" I got up and turned around but her small crackling voice called to me before I started running like a crazy person.
"D-Dar-ryl " she called as i turned around to meet my eyes to her." I-I L-Love y-you "
" I love you to baby" I replied. Then I was off. I was running as fast as I could i couldn't feel my legs and my lungs were burning like some forced a hot coal down my throat. When i got to our safe heaven it was no longer a safe heaven. bodies of men I had never seen were laying on the ground as the group runs out of the house.
" MAGGIE WHERES MAGGIE I NEED HER BETH WAS SHOT WHERE THE FUCK IS MAGGIE" I yelled. then Maggie came running out from behind them.
" WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE ?" she screamed at me
" he in the forest if I had moved her the pain woulda killed her follow me ill take you to her" i replied
and yet again we were both off like bolts of lightning.
we finally made it to the spot.
" Beth I told you not to and that it would only cause more damage where are you" we couldn't see here anywhere all we saw was a pool of blood and no trails or anything.
" BETH WHERE ARE YOU" I started screaming my head off as i ran around the woods looking for her.
" BETH......BETH .. BETH WHERE ARE YOU....BETH"
She was gone.
