Daryl POV
we had been tracking for awhile now and there was no sign of an alive Beth, but I wasn't going to give up hope. I was going to find her. A frail teenage girl that no one had seen before standing in front of us pulled me from my thoughts.
" Who are you " Rick asked with his hand on his gun.
" have you seen a blonde girl? a blonde?" I started frantically asking bu then rick pulled me back.
"Daryl calm down"
" wait your Daryl? Daryl Dixon?" the small girl asked
" yeah whats it concern you" I ask back
"I'm Mae Turner, the blonde girl I'm guessing is Beth Greene?" she said with a huge grin and I immediately pulled my crossbow close to her face.
" WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE. YOU BETTER NOT HAVE HURT HER OR ILL KILL YOU" I screamed in her face.
" whoa whoa no I saved her she sent me to come get you , well she didn't send me I offered" she said very fast and scared.
" Take us now " I heard a voice from behind me say, it was Maggie. I looked back and nodded at her we both had tears in our eyes but i sucked mine back.
we started following the small girl named Mae until we got to a little problem.
Walkers. about a hundred of them and about 16 of us. I liked the odds.
Hayden's POV
" what are we going to do " Mae asked
" Fight " the rest of us answered in unison. and with that we handed each other a couple weapons and went ape shit crazy.
the money and crushing of bones was all you could hear. I was in full out kill anything and everything that moves mode. there were five walkers on me but with one swipe my Katana went threw their skulls cause their bodies to fall to the ground with a sickening thud. everyone was fighting we were making our way threw the last ten when I heard a scream. It was Spring she was being attacked by three at a time. I ran as fast as I could Carl was already half way there when I had hit the ground beside where Spring lay cupping her wrist.
"Hayden it fucking hurt, I don't wanna die Hayden, I don't wanna die" she gasped out in between sobs
" I won't let that happen to you Spring I'm gonna help you I can save you, your not going to die." I then turn and face Mae as I help spring up after ripping the bottom of my shirt and wrapping it around her wrist ." she is losing blood fast we need to get to your shelter and now " I yell at the fragile girl she shudders but starts to run to her shelter.
" here down here" she says as she opens the cellar door. I hop down and run to the old woman " Mae said you could help her please help her " I asked in a sob. the woman nodded back and we ran to the back room where we were going to disinfect and stitch her up. Beth came with me before even realizing that Daryl wasn't here yet.
we were stuck in the medical room for a couple of hours disinfecting and listening to Spring screams as we burned the bitten part of her arm.
" Spring it gonna be okay your gonna get threw this" i said to her as she clutched my hand.
" Yes but Hayden if i don't " she began
" NO stop you will get out of this" I interrupted
"I know but as you always say everything is a possibility so if i don't live threw this bite you gotta promise that you won't do something stupid like opt out or go back into your depression you gotta promise me that you won't miss me and that you'll go on with your life some day this thing is going to be fixed and you and everyone else will live beautiful lives"
" Spring you gonna make it out of this i said as she slowly slipped away into sleep.
Beth's POV
I just left the medial room an realized that if Hayden's here that means Daryl is here. I rush out to the living room and see him standing with the group with his back to me, then everyone's eyes dart to me and he turns around. as soon as he sees me he turns still as a statue, he stands there for awhile probably not knowing if I'm real or not without me knowing it I was already running and jumping into his arms. He holds me as tight as ever.
Daryl's POV
" when is she gong to come out of that freaking medical room" I complain but as I look up I notice no ones eyes are on me they are on something behind me so I whip my body around to see her the woman I have been searching for. In this moment it feels like I'm surrounded by air but I'm unable to breath. its like there's so much space but I can't move, and so I don't move I'm trying to process this , shes here and so am I and shes real.
I feel her perfect body jump into my arms and i squeeze her tight never wanting to loose her again.I take in the smell of lavender in her hair , and I feel the heat of her tiny little hands on my back. then I feel a warm tingle of her breath dancing on my ear as she whispers into it.
" Yes " she answers " a million times yes"
