*Sam's POV*
Dean just got in the car. A little girl was waving at him from the window and he waved back. She's beautiful. She's got brown curls and green eye like Dean does. "Who is that little girl, Dean?" I asked.
He turned to me and a single tear dropped down from his left eye. "That little girl, Sam. That little girl is my daughter." He replied. Daughter? My eyes widened. "Daughter?" I asked, astonished.
"Yes, Sam. That beautiful little girl is my daughter." He clarified. Wow. Dean started the car and we drove away. I couldn't bear to see him like this. Dean tried to keep himself calm, but he looked so sad. We drove to the nearest motel.
"I'll check us in, Dean. You go get our things." I offered. Dean nodded and went to get our things. I walked into the lobby or whatever it was. It didn't look much like a lobby. It looked more like an abandoned office with a small, shabby chair in the corner. I walked to the front desk.
"I'd like a room with two queen size beds." I said to the lady. She offered a small smile, but I could see she really didn't want to be there. "Here you go, sir." She said, handing me the keys.
I walked out to catch up with Dean. He was already waiting outside the car, leaning up against it. "Took you long enough." Dean said.
We walked to the motel room. The least I could say about this room was that it was shitty, and that's putting it nicely. At least beds looked comfortable and decently presentable. Everything else looked.. blah.
"You want to tell me about your visit?" I asked as Dean sat on one bed. "Not really." Dean said. Clearly something's bothering him.
"Tell me." I pleaded. Dean took a deep breath. "I just found out that I have a daughter, Joanna, and Anna doesn't even want me around. She kicked me out, but Joanna didn't want me to leave. I just.. I just feel so bad that I wasn't here for her all these years, but we had so many things going. If I had known that Anna was pregnant.." He trailed off.
"You would have what? Stayed? Dean, you and I both know that you couldn't make that work." I said. I kind of regret that, but we did have a lot of things going on. We had to hunt. We had to. There's almost no way that Dean could have managed that.
"Could you be any less supportive of me, Sam?" He said putting his face into his hands. He let out a deep sigh of frustration. "Sorry, Dean. You know what I meant. We did have a lot of things going on. We had to hunt. Look at it this way, if you had stayed, everything you did, wouldn't have happened." I offered. He didn't seem to care or he was in deep thought. I can't tell.
After a few moments of dead silence, I spoke up. "Do you want me to go talk to Anna for you?" Dean looked up, put one hand on his lap and the other pointed at me. "You will not go talk to Anna. I can fix this mess on my own. You hear me?" He said, sternly.
I raised my hands in surrender. "What do you want me to do, Dean? I can't just sit here and watch your life fall apart. Anna needs you. Joanna needs a father." I said, compassionately.
Dean closed his eyes and replied. " I will handle this. I'm going to try and be the father that we never had. " He was serious. "How do you plan on doing that? Anna won't let you go near her. I don't think she even wants you in her city." I asked.
