*Author's note: This chapter will be written in 3rd person omniscient, so bear with me. It's my first time doing this so it might confuse you. For those of you who don't understand, it means that I will be focusing on everyone. It won't just be one person's pov. It'll be toggling from Sam and Dean to Anna and Joanna. *
*Game Day*
Joanna woke up early from excitement. She hopped out of bed as soon as the sunlight crept through her blinds. She was ready. She had her game face ready. She rushed to her mom's room and Max scampered along with her.
Joanna slowly opened the door and climbed onto her mom's queen sized bed. It was truly the softest bed in the house. She kissed her mom's cheek. "Wake up mommy. Game day. I'm hungry." She said, proudly. She shook her mom softly because of impatience.
Anna's eyes slowly blinked open. "I'm up. I'm up. Mornin', Jojo." Anna said. Anna got up slowly and squeezed Jojo. She pet the dog and walked into the kitchen. Joanna and Max followed.
"What'll it be, sweetie?" Anna asked. "Pancakes. With chocolate chips." Joanna said sweetly and excitedly. "Okay. Get me some pancake mix from the pantry and the chocolate chips. I'll get the rest." Anna instructed. Joanna saluted "Mom, yes, mom." Anna chuckled.
Anna thought her little girl was too cute when she did that. Joanna handed her mom the ingredients. The completed the task of making breakfast with victory. They made enough for Jeremiah and his mother, who were to arrive shortly.
"Mommy, where's the oj?" Joanna asked, looking in the fridge. "Right there, Jojo. Behind the milk." Anna said, pointing in the direction of the oj. Joanna brought it out.
She grabbed a stepping stool to get a plastic cup. She stepped of the stool and brought the glass over to the breakfast table. She placed it down. The doorbell rang. "Mommy, can you pour this for me? I think Jeremiah is here. " Joanna asked.
Her mom nodded and Joanna dashed for the door. Max followed almost immediately. He loved chasing Joanna.
Joanna opened the door. There he was. Jeremiah. And his mom, Linda. Jeremiah was 9 years old. He was the oldest boy on our team. He is also Joanna's best friend. (Jeremiah is in the picture)
Linda had a husband who was away on active duty. They barely got to see him, so Linda made an effort to keep her son and Joanna's friendship alive by having them on the same soccer team.
Joanna hugged Jeremiah tightly. "Breakfast is on the table." She said, excitedly. Jeremiah inhaled the intoxicating fume of pancakes, which he loved. "Chocolate chip pancakes?" He asked, bouncing with joy. "You know it." Joanna replied. They hurried into the kitchen.
Linda followed them. "Hi, Linda. How's it going?" Anna called out, upon seeing her good friend. Linda waved. "I'm good. Ready for this game! Who's gonna win?" Linda cheered.
"SF Vikings League!" The two kids cheered. "That's right. Now eat up. You can't win on empty stomachs. You got practice before your game. We'll be leaving in 15 minutes." Linda encouraged them.
The kids ate quickly, but savored every bit. Their favorite breakfast to eat together. They never had it without each other. It was sort of their tradition.
Anna cleared the empty, dirty dishes from the breakfast table. She kissed Joanna on the forehead and hugged Jeremiah and his mom. "Good luck. Be safe you guys. I gotta fill in for Riley at work. I'll be back in no time to cheer you guys to victory. Bye, Joanna." She said as she departed.
