"It's okay. You didn't know. I just wish Esther gave me the chance to explain myself. I didn't kill poor Henrik. My werewolf gene hadn't been activated. She only blamed me because he was killed by werewolves." Amara responded.
"So what is it like being asleep for a thousand years?" Liam asked.
"Well it's dark." Amara said, making the couple chuckle. "But honestly, it's a nightmare. It's worse than death. No matter how hard you try, you can never wake up unless the spell is broken by someone. I guess that's why Esther didn't just kill me. She wanted me to suffer."
"So, if you were asleep for a thousand years, do you really think this Niklaus person is alive?" Audrey asked. "I mean, he was human, was he not?"
Amara's stomach sunk. She had never thought about that. What if the love of her life had died a thousand years ago? What if the Mikaelsons no longer existed? What if she lost the chance of being with the man she loved so dearly? Just the mere thought made her want to cry. All she wanted was to be reunited with her beloved.
Liam and Audrey had noticed the pain Amara was in after having asked that question and they immediately regretted it. They knew they had to cheer her up.
"Hey Amara." Audrey said. "You said that Esther put you to sleep, right? She's the one that cast that spell on you?"
"Yeah." Amara muttered.
"Okay, so that means she was a witch, right?" Liam said. "What if maybe she also cast a spell on her children? Maybe to protect them? Or keep them alive?"
Amara looked up at them. Could this have really happened? Could Amara see the Mikaelsons again? Would she be able to see the love of her life? Whilst Amara had her hopes up, the couple really didn't. They believed it was highly unlikely that the Mikaelson family would still be alive. If they were all human, there was no way they would live past even fifty years. But they wanted to cheer Amara up. She had already been through a lot and they wanted to see her happy.
"Do you really think we could find them?" Amara asked, her excitement rising at the thought of seeing her one true love.
The couple looked at each other, knowing she could be set up for disappointment. However, they wanted Amara to feel they had explored every option they had to figure out if the Mikaelsons were still alive.
"Yeah I think we could." Audrey smiled.
"Oh my god." Amara said, taking off a necklace she had around her neck and handing it to Liam.
"Um, why are you giving us this?" Liam asked, confused.
"For the locator spell. Niklaus gave this to me. We can use this to find him." She said enthusiastically. Liam and Audrey smiled. They really found Amara adorable.
"Honey, we don't need a locator spell. Maybe you've forgotten we're in the twenty first century." Audrey smiled. "We can look them up on the internet."
Amara looked at them confused. "What is this internet?"
"Come, we'll show you." Liam said.
The three got up from the dining table and went over to the laptop sitting on the coffee table. Amara was amazed when she saw Liam open it up to a bright light. This was all very new to her but she liked it.
"So how does this thing help find my Niklaus?" Amara asked, truly fascinated.
"Simple. We just type his name into the search bar." Audrey said.
Amara watched as Liam typed 'Niklaus Mikaelson' into the search bar. This was all so amazing to her. The world was such a different place now. It seemed looking for someone would be so much easier for anyone and maybe it would help her find her Niklaus even faster than she expected.
"Oh my god." Liam said.
"Did you find my Niklaus?" Amara asked with hope in her voice.
"Yeah, I actually did." Liam said, amazed. He was shocked to see that this Niklaus person and all his siblings were still alive. They were mentioned on a news article about their home and how it was the oldest and most elegant in all of New Orleans.
"No way, he's still alive?" Audrey asked, equally as shocked.
"Yep, him and his siblings are in New Orleans." Liam said. Audrey looked at the laptop screen before gasping.
"What's wrong?" Amara asked, worried.
"Damn girl, he's hot!" Audrey exclaimed, still looking at his picture. "I can see why you're so madly in love with him."
Amara blushed. She looked at the laptop screen, making her blush even more when she saw his photo. Niklaus now had short hair which to Amara made him even more attractive. He had the same plump lips and gorgeous blue eyes. She yearned to see him. She wanted to hug him, kiss him, just be with him.
"We can take you to New Orleans in a couple of days." Liam said.
"You both would really do that for me?" Amara asked. She felt so grateful that this couple were doing so much for her. She didn't know how she could ever repay them.
"Of course. We want to see this reunion. It's gonna be epic." Liam said, bouncing up and down in excitement.
"Epic?" Amara asked. She did not know what this word meant.
"It means amazing." Audrey chuckled, clearing Amara's confusion.
Amara smiled. She couldn't stop smiling. In just a few days, she was going to be with the love of her life. She was going to be with the man she considered her whole world.
