It had been two months since Klaus and Amara had arrived in Italy and it was honestly the best two months of their lives. They managed to explore quite a few cities and try new foods and just enjoy their experience. It was a peaceful two months but they knew they had to get back to their lives. Amara's belly was also getting bigger everyday so they had to go home while it was still safe for her to travel.

"I don't even want to leave. I love it here." Amara said as she packed her bags.

"I know you do, my love but our family are waiting for us back home." Klaus said.

"We haven't heard from them in two months. I hope everything is okay."

"They're probably busy doing their own thing. I did tell them not to disturb us." Klaus said before wrapping his arms around her from behind and resting his chin on her shoulder.

"Well, I guess we did benefit from no distractions." Amara said with a chuckle, referring to the fact that the couple were having a lot more sex as no one was around.

Klaus let out a laugh and rested his hands on Amara's swollen belly. "I can't wait for this baby to come."

"You're going to be the best father in the world. This child is going to be so lucky." Amara said.

Klaus placed a kiss on her cheek before pulling away and Amara turned to face him. "And you'll be the best mother." Klaus smiled before placing a kiss on her lips. "Come on now. We've got a plane to catch."

The couple had finally made it back to New Orleans. Klaus had his hand on Amara's back as they both walked towards the compound. Let's just say they got very busy on the plane and Amara was now struggling to walk.

"Everyone's gonna know." Amara grumbled to which Klaus laughed.

"Let them know. We're married. We can have all the sex we want." Klaus said, making Amara's face heat up.

The couple walked into the compound but stopped when they saw the scene in front of them. The compound was pretty much empty. Everything was just gone. No-one was there.

"Where is everyone?" Klaus asked before pulling his phone out.

"I knew something was wrong." Amara muttered to herself.

"Elijah, Amara and I just got back and there's no-one here. What's going on? Call me back." Klaus said before putting his phone away.

"Oh, Klaus. Amara. I wasn't expecting to see you both here. I thought you both went away." They heard. It was Marcel. He had just come out from one of the rooms.

"We went for a while, not forever. Where is everyone?" Klaus asked.

"I'm sorry but I can't tell you that." Marcel sighed.

"Marcel, please. We're getting worried." Amara said.

"I'm sorry, Amara but they told me not to tell you guys. Especially Klaus." Marcel said, angering Klaus.

"I'll just compel it out of you then." Klaus said.

"No, you can't. I take vervain." He said, making Klaus growl.

"Marcellus, you better tell me right now."

"I can't, Klaus."

"If you don't tell me right now, I'll personally make sure you won't see Rebekah again." Klaus threatened.

"You can't do that." Marcel said.

"If I didn't see you like a son, you'd be dead right now. Consider yourself lucky. Now, where is my family?!" Klaus exclaimed.

Marcel sighed. "Okay, they've gone to Mystic Falls. They told me to stay here and look after the city while they're gone."

"What?" Amara asked.

"Why have they gone to that mediocre town?" Klaus complained.

"They said the 'Scooby gang' or something like that are out to get you all. They have the daggers and the white oak ash and they want to dagger you all." Marcel explained.

Amara looked at her husband concerned as he paced around the courtyard. "Why?! All I want is to live a peaceful life and they just won't stop!"

Amara rushed over to her husband and held him by his shoulders. "Hey, everything will be okay."

"No, it won't. I haven't bothered those lot in so long. Why are they still after us? Are they really that bored?" Klaus complained. "And worst of all, they have my daggers."

"Niklaus, you weren't really planning on using those daggers again, were you?" Amara asked.

"No, of course not. My family are all together and happy. Why would I dagger them? But it's better that the daggers are with me and no-one else. At least that way, we were all safe." Klaus said.

"We'll make this right. We'll go to Mystic Falls and sort this out. Don't stress yourself out." Amara said, rubbing his cheek with her thumb, making Klaus instantly calm down. He nodded and kissed his wife, feeling himself become emotionally stronger again.

"I'll come with you guys to Mystic Falls." Marcel said, making the couple look at them.

"And why would you want to help us?" Klaus asked. "Why do you want to put yourself in more danger because of my family?"

"Because you guys are my family. And I love Rebekah. I can't just sit here whilst Rebekah gets daggered." Marcel said. "And besides, this Scooby gang doesn't know me. I could be useful."

"I suppose you're right. Thank you, Marcellus." Klaus said before the two shook hands.

"Looks like we're going to Mystic Falls." Amara said.
