Throwback To A Year Ago,

I'm literally in the middle of editing and fixing everything pls gtfo until I finish omg I'm sorryyyy!!!🙏🏻😭

"Wavily?" A sweet honey voice leaked over the lingering voices of the group around me like layered waves. I had forgotten where I was for a second and before I knew it, I had locked eyes with her poisonous light green eyes and the light drained out of me like vomit. Reality slowly kicked back in, and I'm still downstairs. Sitting.

"Huh?" I blinked slowly, tired, and my eyes threatened to close for the night as I squeezed the end of my black long sleeve for some strength. It had been a long day.

Her dark red plumped lips curled into a thin line, clearly seeing my tired face, "Your turn." I paused, what were we doing again? I scanned around for a clue but I was the most sober in here out of all 15 of these people. "Truth or Dare?" She asked softly with a hint of annoyance after clearly seeing I was a lost cause.

"Um," the room was spinning and my head felt like it still had a gallon of chlorine water left in it. Locking eyes with her with a sharpened frown, I really didn't wanna do this. "Dare!" I took a breath, preparing for her games. I mean she knows to leave me alone after the past few days, so I don't know what she's doing here. Even with the dim lighting from the backyard, my vision was barely there. Flashbacks in the back of my head like lost memories. Not just from the entirety of today or the last few days; flashbacks from years ago — one after another. The hyperventilation. The water. The smoke all around me from the heat, and the fog... I almost drowned, in front of her—

I had so much homework and tests to make up for leaving the school early; the abandoned house by parents, left for smoke sessions; mess and reek of alcohol and irresponsible teenagers of Oakwood High School.

We were spread out on the floor with only the pool lights to forecast the shadowy figures. Her dark red wine hair had turned into a light soft cherry color and her skin was fair against her short black dress, which both had turned her eyes a mesmerizing trimeresurus albolabris color. — Ivy Grover, the popular red head at Oakwood high; the most dangerous business dealer's daughter and also known as the one who has gotten enough of Dayven Wally's attention to be his hook-up doll. Yes, Dayven Wally, as in my older brother's best friend and the youngest billionaire whose name is on too many things to count. The easily highest student of Oakwood high and university with every girl to ever exist on this earth after him. Also the one who's had his hand wrapped around her waist as he gives me cold, sharp stares from here and there to apparently check on me like a best friend he seems to be acting like because he was the one who found me passed out in the heater room. He was the one who had to break down the metal door.

But I still wonder if that glimmer — wonder and curiosity — in his eyes when he catches mine from time to time has anything to do with him remembering anything from David's party night. He was too drunk and went too far for him to think it wasn't a dream but his eyes keep trying to catch a hint, a crack, from me to connect him to anything. Anything to see if he was too fucked up and imagined it all or if he really lost control that night.

And now to come think of it, Ivy must be onto something for picking me on her turn considering we've made it into a silent rule over the years to stay far away from each other at all costs because there isn't a single day on this earth since we've met back in 5th grade that we've gotten along or even agreed on the most agreeable things. We will literally argue over water if we're left alone together. I mean, Ivy is one enemy when she chooses you to mess with but so much shit happened during our first few years of friendship that I lost track of all the bullshit I apparently did to still get her pissed off even today. If someone had told me that she would come into my life just because I am friends with Dayven fucking Wally, and gave me a 30 second video of the bullshit she had in store for me — I would've just jumped off the Royal Gorge Bridge right then and there — the most dangerous and highest bridge in the world apparently? Or better yet, I would've thrown Dayven and everyone associated with him over it without hesitation — except Emily, his little sister, my ride or die—
