38. Naked truth

'' Athena are you sure? this seems a bit too much,'' I exclaimed coming out of the separate dressing room in Athena's chamber.

The red short dress reached my mid-thigh the off-shoulder top was an elegant deep v neck long sleeve bag, the silk material of the dress gave a classy feel to the dress against my skin. There was a little cleavage that was showing, which did bother me a little bit considering how clumsy I get with my heels.

Athena had styled my hair and applied the makeup beforehand. so while I wore the dress, I was extra careful with not getting my foundation or any cosmetic marks on it. I wanted a decent pair of heels to match my outfit and clumsy character; I went with a silver colour pair, Although Athena at the last moment got them changed and brought me a gold colour pair of shoes to match her's.

'' Don't be silly jade I'm sure--- Wow look at you! You look gorgeous! '' She said shocked and in wonder as she eyed me up and down.

'' I knew those shoes would look great on you! '' She stated and curled her hair between her fingers.

'' umm, It's the cleavage part for me that makes me feel--''

'' Jade believe me no man would ever look at you when you're wearing that.'' She said pointing towards the top of my dress.

'' But that's the whole point they will,'' I told readjusting the top of my dress.

'' When you have Nicholas beside you, I highly doubt that.'' She said straightening the strands of her hair.

'' What if he is not beside me? then what? '' I questioned Athena turned to face me and stepped closer.

'' Believe me when I say this if any man dares to look up at you disrespectfully... Nicholas will rip his eyes out.'' Athena said and placed two beautiful diamond earrings on my palm.

'' Wear it Nicholas brought them for you.'' She whispered and picked the dress on her hanger and went straight to her dressing room.

I glanced down at the magnificent beauty in my hands, the diamonds looked so elegant and huge I was scared it would rip my ears out. But at the same time, it looked too expensive to even keep.

Once I wore the earrings, I took one final look at myself and Athena came out wearing her midnight blue dress.  It was backless and it had a deep V neck too. She wore her jewellery and shoes smiling at me we both walked out of her room.

A buzz stops us from walking in our tracks, Athena picked up her phone and glanced at the notification. She smiled cheekily and looked up towards me and said.

'' Jade, Nicholas is waiting for you in the backyard. ''

My eye widened as a knowledgeable expression took over my face and let out. '' Oh, Okay.''

Athena smiled at me and pushed me in the opposite direction of the mansion, as she directed me to the backyard. She left me feeling nervous and lost, all alone in such a big house with my golden heels clicking against the floor.

I need a road map!

Once I figured out the sliding glass doors to the backyard, I walked forwards and noticed the haven they created. There was a swimming pool close by with beach chairs and a jacuzzi too. The green grass that I was now standing on, turned mush as the soft wind blew against my exposed skin.

Where is he?

I walked ahead when I couldn't find Nicholas attaining anywhere close by to me. I discerned that there was a stone pavement that followed in a different direction. I wandered following it as it led me to blocks of the pavement which gradually increased to a bigger area. When I bucked up, I noticed a fireplace and couches encircling it.

There he stood with his back facing me, the clicking of my heels clasped his attention and he aimed to find me. Once he did his brown eyes never appeared to leave mine. his piercing gaze held me captive when I found my legs growing feeble to walk.

Nicholas has dressed in a black suit, a colour which I was well familiar with; the only difference was that he wore a black formal shirt underneath. His brunette brownish locks were gelled following, as a cigar was held onto his lips. His rings were evident on his fingers and it made me wonder why he wore them?

When I got the whiff of his musky perfume, I knew that I was standing way too close to him. With parted lips Nicholas sketched his pointers from my cheekbones drawing it across my jawline to my collar bone, My heart was thumping upon my chest powerfully-- it felt unmanageable to breathe anymore.

'' Beautiful '' He said huskily blowing out the smoke into the air, I looked at the cigar and back to him and scrunched my nose.

'' You don't fancy them, do you? '' He asked me inhaling his addiction.

'' I hate them,'' I replied truthfully, Nicholas flicked the cigar from his fingers and it landed straight into the fireplace.

'' You look pleasing to my hungry eyes. '' He told me wrapping his arm around my waistline; bringing me in closer and I blushed bashfully.

His deep brown eyes pierced into my skin and itched all over my body. I felt a certain chilly feeling in my spine; when he gawked at me like I breathed his valuable possession.

Absent wasting, another moment Nicholas pressed his hungry lips onto mine, His cool lips sent a comfortable unity into my heart. As I experienced his touch in all the portions of my body-- Nicholas was replenished with greed, he bites my lips sending a painfully yet teasing sensation across my skin. therefore proceeded to suck on them attempting to soothe the sting.

'' Best believe emerald, I'll shoot a man who dares to take a glance at what's mine.'' He whispered deeply pulling away.

'' I'm not yours.'' I grinned and he darkly chuckled back at me.

'' No emerald, you don't see it. But I do... You're in love with me.'' He revealed and the smile which I had plunged from my face.

'' I-I'm not,'' I answered honestly because of what I thought was true.

'' Really? '' He asked cocking an eyebrow at me.

'' Then why were tear's spilling down your eyes, when I flung the door and marched away? Why does your heart ripple when I send you flowers? Why do you always smile when I'm intimate with you? '' He questioned

'' I- ''

'' And most importantly, Why do you let me kiss you... If you feel nothing for me? '' Nicholas supplicated landing the last question on his lips; He struck the naked truth in my heart.

He had pressed down on all the correct buttons, which I desired to never settle in my heart in the first place. The indications that I was terrified of expressing on my lips, trembled. My camouflage was waved and my fortitude was flashed to the effortless and vicious man in front of me.

Tear's streamed down my face as I sniffled a little, for the initial moment someone left me speechless and I had no triumph to validate my authenticity.

'' Nicholas I-I... ''

'' Shush emerald, I know. This feeling is new to you and no one was there to love you before. But I am, and I'm damn adamant to give you whatever you want. '' Nicholas stated me wrapping his arms around my small frame, and whispering sweet nothings in my ear.

'' I'm so scared Nicholas, I-I'm just so tired of losing everyone I love. It's a lot I can't--'' I stopped talking because I found it difficult to breathe anymore, there was a block in my throat which choked me.

'' You won't ever have to worry about losing me, baby.'' He said confidently pulling back and handing me a napkin.

'' I'd fight death just to see your face again.'' He spoke softly, but his voice held decision and authority.

'' But for now, I'd want to do one thing.'' He whispered against my lips, I frowned in confusion.

'' What is that? '' I asked cluelessly.

'' take you to a birthday party.'' He told me and I laughed throwing my head back.

'' Only if you promise me, Dinner, tomorrow,'' I answered

'' Deal, tomorrow dinner at my penthouse.'' He smiled through his teeth and I giggled when he pressed his lips on my temple.
