Aaliyah POV

The rest of the summer went by fast. Pretty soon we were Seniors. Shaun was released from the hospital in a matter of days and Ariana was released after him. She had court but the judge let her off because she claimed to have mental issues.

I know damn well that bitch ain't got mental issues. But if I see her this school year, trying to fuck with my man again... I will be whooping some ass.

August

The alarm ringed. I woke up and looked around. Time for school.

Today begins the first day of Senior Year. I'm so excited. I put my hair up in a bun and step in the shower. I took a 15 minute shower and then I brush my teeth and get ready.

I put on a dark mahogany crop top, black leggings, my gold chain, my dad's Rolex and my Tims. I decided to keep my hair up in a bun for the day.

As I was walking downstairs, my phone begin to vibrate. Someone's calling.

It was Shaun. I answered.

"Hey Shaun,"

"Hey baby," I tensed. Every since THAT incident, the word "baby" makes me tense.

"Wassup booh," I replied.

"You wouldn't believe it," he said.

"Believe what,"

"I got a scholarship to play football at the University of  Southern California," he replied.

"Oh my god. Baby that's great. I'm so proud of you," I answered, smiling.

"Thanks. But you're gonna hate the shit that comes next,"

"What is it," I replied, my smile fading.

"They want me to come play right away,"

"Shaun, you can't leave. We need you. I need you,"

"I know baby. But..."

"But what?" I replied. Then I realized, I'm keeping Shaun from his dream. He always wanted to play football for University of Southern California. But then there's me.  I'm in the middle. He's probably thinking whether to stay with me or go play for USC.

"Baby, you know this is my dream to play for USC. But you my forever, and I want to be with you also,"

I sighed. "Babe, we will work something out,"

"Ight boo, see ya in a few,"

"See ya," I hung up.

Yeah I'm selfish. He's my man. But I mean USC isn't that far. But I can't bear the idea of having Shaun hours away.

I walked downstairs and drunk a cup of milk.

"Honey, you're not going to eat anything?" Mom asked.

"Not hungry," I replied.

"Okay," she say. "Have a good day at school my soon to be graduate,"

I smiled. "Thanks mom,"

I walked out the door and see Shaun leaving his house with Tyra behind him.

"Hey Liyah," she said, giving me a hug.

"Hey T," I replied. I'm still surprised how Tyra and I became so close. She is one of the only people I can count on. Besides Shaun and Michelle.

"Waaait, hold up," Shaun said. "I know you just didn't walk past yo own bae like that,"

I laughed. "Hey bae," I said, giving him a kiss.
