Shaylynn hung up on Beth!
BETH: Bitch!
Beth drove to Whole foods to stock up then got home to find Anton preparing something or other in the kitchen.
ANTON: Hey Beth!
BETH: Hey! Something smells great!
Beth began unpacking her shopping bags .
ANTON: I'm making mac cheese for later!
BETH: Oh great! Rosie's out with her gran and Kelly's playing golf! But they should be back in time for dinner!
ANTON: All you need to do is heat it up, there's garlic bread in the fridge
BETH: Thank you!
After putting away all of the shopping she spoke to her housekeeper for a few minutes then walked upstairs. She stopped outside Ellie's room and sighed. She desperately wanted to go into it but was too scared. Her phone rang. It was Kelly.
KELLY: Are you okay? I just had this weird feeling that there was something wrong with you!
BETH: I'm standing outside Ellie's bedroom door.
KELLY: Babe, don't go in there yourself. We'll both do it.
Beth was trying not to cry.
KELLY: Babe (quietly)
Beth rested her head on the bedroom door
BETH: I'll be alright. I'm going to lie down and rest a little.
KELLY: I'll be home within the hour
BETH: Ok. Who's winning ?
KELLY: Did you have to ask?
Beth laughed
BETH: I love you
KELLY: I love you too baby! I'll see you soon!
BETH: Okay!
Kelly hung up leaving Beth staring at Ellie's door. She reached out her hand to touch the handle. Bursting into tears she walked to her bedroom and lay on then bed sobbing into her pillow. She fell asleep straight away.
A few hours later the sunshine woke her up. She noticed Kelly's arms her waist.
KELLY: Hey, you're awake
He lifted up her hair the kissed the back of her neck. She smiled.
BETH: When did you get back ?
KELLY: About an hour ago. It's 3 o'clock.
BETH: Already?
She turned to face him. Looking into his eyes she sighed.
KELLY: What?
BETH: You're so goddam perfect
Smiling at her he ran his hand across her cheek.
KELLY: You alright?
Beth nodded yes but said ....
BETH: No! (Crying)
KELLY: Oh hunny!
Pulling her close he kissed her forehead
KELLY: Do you want to go into the bedrooms?
BETH: No, I don't know!
KELLY: Promise you won't go into them without me? Promise me ?
