Sitting in A&E at Chicago Med, Shaylynn couldn't sit still. Hank was in having tests done and as far as Shaylynn was concerned it was taking way too long.
SHAYLYNN: What's keeping them ?
JAY: Keep calm babe. They'll be out soon enough with news
SHAYLYNN: I can't stand not knowing
Kelly was squeezing Beth's hand
KELLY: You okay?
BETH: I don't know. If anything happens to him ....
KELLY: We need to keep positive. You know he's a fighter!
Beth was busy looking through Google on her phone. Kelly glanced at the screen.
KELLY: Babe, don't!
BETH: it says around 20 percent of patients age 45 and older will have another heart attack within five years of their first! (quietly)
KELLY: I wish you wouldn't go on Google!
SHAYLYNN: What are you two whispering about?
KELLY: You don't wanna know!
Shaylynn stood up
SHAYLYNN: I'm going in!
Jay grabbed the back of her jeans and pulled her back down
JAY: Shaylynn sit down and let the Doctors do their job
SHAYLYNN: It's so fucking frustrating!
Jay kissed Shaylynn's cheek. Beth rubbed her stomach
KELLY: Are you alright?
BETH: I don't feel too good!
KELLY: What's wrong ?
Kelly stood up the began to pull Beth up
BETH: Owww! I have pains in my lower belly!
SHAYLYNN: Oh no! Nurse!
KELLY: Babe, we're in the right place!
Just then Will came out of the treatment room where Hank was.
VOICE: Doctor Halstead! Come back in!
Shaylynn stood up to rush into the treatment room as Beth fell down in pain! Shaylynn didn't know where to go!
KELLY: You go see your dad! I'll deal with Beth!
Hank died from another heart attack 5 minutes later. Beth was given bad news too. Her pregnancy was eptopic. Meaning the foetus had attached itself outside of the womb and had to go into surgery to remove it.
Shaylynn was in tears when Beth woke up. Jay was pacing around the room in a daze and Kelly was sitting on the edge of the hospital bed holding Beth's hand.
BETH: Uncle Hank?
SHAYLYNN: He's gone Beth! (crying)
Beth burst into tears
BETH: No! (crying) I want to see him!
Beth felt Kelly squeeze her hand. She looked up at him.
BETH: Has the baby gone?
Kelly nodded. Shaking his hand away from hers she sat up in bed. Shaylynn literally broke down so Jay walked right over to her and held her in his arms.
