𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐁 𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐔𝐑𝐄 chaos right now as Bree and I are trying to get our biology homework done. I wish Bree had her own room in this house, but she always wants to be down in the lab like the others. And yet, it's easier to get our homework done in this chaos than at my home with my grandfather constantly interrupting.

'Come on, Adam. Hurt me,' Chase says, which makes my head perk up. Is he out of his mind?

Adam cracks his knuckles with a little grin. 'Okay,' he replies. 'You're small, you have a weird shirt, your girlfriend is way too pretty for you, your hair is weird—'

'I meant hit me, Adam,' Chase hisses through gritted teeth and pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration.

As Adam is flexing his muscles, I'm starting to worry a little more. Chase isn't necessarily weak, but his strength doesn't come near Adam's super strength. 'Are you sure about this, Chase? He's ten times stronger than you,' Bree pipes up, voicing my concerns.

'Just let him try,' Chase says nonchalantly and positions himself to take the hit.

My grip on my pen tightens as Adam runs over to Chase. I'm halfway to looking away from the scene, though I can still see Chase completely flipping the script and suddenly, Adam's back hits the floor, making him gasp for air.

Bree's jaw drops slightly as she stares at the scene in front of her. 'How did you do that?' she asks in pure disbelief and confusion.

'Aikido,' Chase says and walks over to me, kissing my cheek. 'You use your opponent's strength and momentum against them.' His arms wrap around me from behind as he glances over my homework and fixes a mistake I made.

Leo barges into the lab with a tablet in hand, his head held high. 'Chase,' he declares and tries to smoothly lean over the table. 'I need your help with something.'

'What is it, Leo?' Chase asks, resting his chin on top of my head.

'The annual robot throw-down is coming up this weekend,' Leo says with a big, innocent smile on his face, which I don't trust one bit.

Chase sighs as his fingers absentmindedly run over my arm. 'For the last time, I'm not a robot, I'm a man,' Chase argues, though when all his siblings are giving him looks, he backpaddles a little bit. 'One day I'll be a man.' I'm not sure whether or not I should be worried that they've had this conversation before.

'I wasn't talking about you,' Leo reassures him, though gives Chase another look which just screams "unless you are a robot after all." Leo flips his tablet over to us to show us some very anti-climatic robot fights. 'It's a competition where people fight each other's robot and I build one every year. I thought we could team up together.'

'Look, it all looks really cool and all,' Chase says sarcastically as his attention is slowly turning back to me. 'But I've got better things to do than—'

'The grand prize is five hundred dollars,' Leo interrupts.

'—and I'm in,' Chase agrees without a second thought. I mentally slap my forehead at how easily he can be convinced. His attention is caught again by the video still playing on Leo's tablet. 'Who's he?'

A brown-haired boy with the most evil smile plastered on his face appears on the screen and Leo lets out a dramatic and frustrated sigh. 'That's Kevin Stone. He has won the robot throw-down every year. He thinks he is so much better than me.'

'Sounds like he is,' I mumble, making Chase chuckle as his arms tighten around me again to hold me closer to him.

'That's not the point,' Leo deadpans, his eyes narrowing at me. 'So, I was thinking—'
