Chapter 8 - Not Fair

Chapter 8

2 weeks later

Ichigo P.O.V:

It's been 2 weeks since we told Byakuya that Rukia was pregnant and in that we told dad and the others too. Dad was delighted and started crying next to the poster of mom, Yuzu was excited that she will finally be an aunt and Karin she was kind of like whatever.

I sighed at the paperwork in front of me. Would it kill Kyoraku to just give me a mission I'm fed up with paperwork. I was still signing papers when I heard a knock on the door

Ichigo: Come in

Renji: Yo what's sup Ichigo

Ichigo: Nothing just a bunch of paperwork I said leaning back in my chair

Renji: Well then I heard that Rukia was pregnant and I just came to congratulate you

Ichigo: Who told you? I asked scrunching my eyebrows

Renji: I overheard Captain Kuchiki. Also word is Captain Kuchiki is doing half of Rukia's paperwork since she's pregnant

Is this really true? How could do this me? He knows how much I hate paperwork why couldn't he do any of mine?

Ichigo: Say sike right now. I said swiftly standing up

Renji: In any case I better go. C ya later. He said before closing the door

I finally arrived home from the division. Man I really need a vacay.

Ichigo: I'm home. I said opening the door

Rukia: Welcome home Ichigo. She said while sitting on the couch

I walked to her laid down with head on her lap and my arms wrapped around her

Rukia: Looks like someone's tried. She said while caressing my hair

Ichigo: I really need a vacay or at least a whole week off

Rukia: You know that will be hard to get since as a Captain you have a lot of responsibilities. She said softly

Ichigo: Who said I asked for them also is it true that Byakuya is doing some of your work? I asked looking up at her

She chuckled at my question

Ichigo: What's so funny?

Rukia: Looks like you found out. Yes Ni-sama is doing like half of my work since he said I shouldn't work too hard

Ichigo: It's not fair why couldn't he do some of mine. I mumbled

Rukia: Last time I checked you're not the one carrying the baby. She stated

Ichigo: I guess you're right. In any case how is the baby

Rukia: The baby is fine. It's not causing me too much trouble except I am more hungry than usual. She while putting a hand on her stomach

Ichigo: Well you are eating for 2

We stayed quiet for a bit until a thought crossed my mind

Ichigo: Rukia

Rukia: Hmm. She said while still running her fingers through my hair

Ichigo: I been worried about something and it's been bothering me for quite a while

Rukia: Do you want to tell me what it is?

Ichigo: I'm just worried about the baby. I'm worried about what if he has a hollow inside him

Rukia P.O.V:

What Ichigo said was obviously something to worry about. A shinigami having a hollow inside of them is never a good thing. I could tell that, that was his biggest fear

Rukia: Ichigo I'm worried too. I know how much you have gone through because of your hollow and you don't want our baby to go through the same thing neither do I. But even if the baby does develop a hollow I will still love it. I'm sure in the end it will all be alright. I mean we have been through a lot of things haven't we? I said softly

Ichigo held on to me a bit tighter

Ichigo: I mean we have been through a lot but...you know

Rukia: I know

Some time later~

Rukia: We should probably head to bed it's getting late

Ichigo: Yeah we should. He said standing up

We made our way to our room and we got ready for bed.

Afterwards we both laid down and stayed like that for a little bit

Ichigo brought his hand to my stomach and gently rubbed it. I smiled because it reassured me that there is a baby growing inside of me and we are soon going to be parents

Ichigo: I wonder how our baby is going to turn out

Rukia: I know for a fact it's not going to turn out like the idiot strawberry that you are. I said teasingly

Ichigo: Well then I can also say that I know our baby won't turn out a stubborn midget like you. He shot back

I look my free hand wacked him in the face for that

Ichigo: Ow what was the for. He said while running his jaw

Rukia: You got what you deserved. I mumbled

Ichigo: I can't say anything without getting beat up can I

Rukia: Well if you don't give me a reason to beat you up then I won't. I said smirking

Ichigo: You're such a pain. He said while bringing me close

I was about to give him a direct hit to the gut for that one but a wave of fatigue came over me. I yawned

Ichigo: Looks like someone's sleepy. Ichigo pointed out

Rukia: We should really go to sleep we do have to go to work tomorrow

Ichigo: You're right. I love you goodnight. He said before giving me a quick kiss

Rukia: Goodnight
