I remembered once
I was running through a field
Lush & green
Long & thin
I wondered through the sun
Butterflies flew threw the clouds
Colors of the rainbow
They fly high
As I lay here alone
With no one by my side
I didn't really mind
As I look after a butterfly
That landed on my finger
As I see it slowly linger
As I play with you
I knew what the best thing was to do
The sun was suddenly saying it's goodbyes
Coloring the sky
With
Orange, pink, and yellow
As they soon leave
I didn't want to leave you
But I knew the truth
The best thing to do
Maybe I was saying goodbye
As the butterflies fly away
Into the sun
I heard a whisper
"Let me go my darling"
As your colorful blue wings
Prepare its leave
I decided to let you go
As you leave
For some reason
I didn't want you leave
But I wanted you to leave at ease
Someday I'll let you go
I just never thought it was gonna be today
But for some reason
I'm not sad
I'm happy
To let the one I love go
Letting go the one you love is sweet
Not everyone can do it
It's something not easy
But little by little
You will begin to feel better
Your heart will feel a bit with ease
Letting the one you love go
Is sweeter than honey
