__________

I got ready fast as I was already running late, per usual. Mecca and I were meeting for lunch to catch up, I haven't seen her since the day I quit. I heard my phone ding and I knew it was her asking where I was. I pulled up my jeans and double-checked myself in the mirror.

"Okay, this will do." I quickly threw on my shoes and grabbed whatever I needed before running out the door. As soon as I got in my car I got a phone call, "Sorry! I know I am late!" I said not even paying attention to the caller ID.

"What are you late too?" Spencer says on the other line, I laugh and then let out a breath of air,

"I thought you were Mecca." I pulled out of the parking lot and started driving.

"Oh, your stripper friend?"

"Yes, my stripper friend," I said smiling, At the time we were both newbies looking for a way out of reality, and a little bit of cash. Just then I got a call and this time it was Mecca, "Got to go SP." I said hanging up quickly to answer.

"Hey! Where are you?" Mecca asks I can hear the people around her in the background.

"I'm almost there, I may have woken up a bit late."

"I'm not surprised, I have Sam with me, the daycare couldn't take him today."

"Alright that's fine, I'll be there in a hot minute, don't wait up." I laughed, I heard her return one as well.

I am glad Mecca never pestered me about being late all the time, all of my ex's used it as a key argument point, but with her I could just be myself. I think that's one of the reasons why we're so close to each other.

"Alright see you soon y/n." Mecca then hung up and I turned on the radio.

A few minutes later I arrived at the small cafe we used to always eat at. I parked and then walked in, and one of the first things I heard was Sams voice, pointing to where they were sitting.

"Auntie Y/n!" Sam yelled smiling.

"Shh Sam, you're being too loud," Mecca said handing him some crayons. I sat down across from Mecca and noticed she'd already ordered me a drink.

"Thank you," I said smiling.

"Anything for the little one," Mecca said mocking Spencer. I had told her about our flings one night on a case when everyone was out at the bar and I decided to stay back.

I laughed, "Yeah, it's weird right?"

"I think it's cute. What do you call him? SP?" She giggled.

"SP sometimes, he gets mad when I do it though, I just call him Spencer mostly." I took a sip of my iced coffee and she turned her head to the side.

"Does he only call you Little one? Like around other people too?"

"Funny thing, no one knows..." I saw her laugh and I swallowed, "It's just a secret between us."

"Wow, that's crazy."

"He never actually calls me Y/n when I am alone with him, sometimes he slips up and I see he didn't mean to on my face, but I don't understand why."

"It's probably a guy thing, Mason did that with me." Mecca then looked at Sam.

"Mason also got you pregnant and left so I don't know how to take that," I said laughing.

Back in High School around when we met Mecca had been kicked out for getting pregnant, the baby daddy wasn't any help either. He just changed high schools and made new social media accounts. Mecca and I went through life together, and sometimes I miss being young and being able to just live without having to worry about an Unsub kidnapping me every five minutes.
