Harry's POV
The next day, after telling everyone at the
bakery about how I got accepted into the theatre, we drove down to the place where we would be performing. It was a huge empty arena, so quiet you could easily hear a pin drop, and it was filled with metal chairs that had pillows attached to them to sit on.My jaw was practically on the floor at this point as I was looking up to the large stage with red velvet curtains, then I saw someone come in from the other door walking up to me to greet me.
"Hello, I'm the director of the play!" He said, putting his hand out so I could shake it. I looked up to him with a huge grin on my face. I couldn't wait to actually perform here, the thought of entertaining a crowd of people on a large stage made me... happy.
A few hours later it was time for our first meeting together. We walked into this big empty room, there wasn't much in there apart from a stereo for music and a few chairs scattered along the edges. A load of people came in and we sat on the floor to introduce ourselves, which at first was quite scary because I had no idea who I was going to be performing with.
Everyone went around introducing themselves, and then someone else walked through the door.
"Sorry I'm late" they apologised, walking through the door and seemed to be out of breath.
It was Louis.
My heart started beating really fast, did he just walk into the wrong room? Or are we really going to be performing together?
Once everyone had finally introduced themselves we had a quick break. I immediately ran over to the young boy.
"Fancy seeing you here, Harold" he said with a cheeky grin.
"Don't call me that.." I muttered, smiling a bit but trying to hide it. "So, are you performing here too?"
"Yes, love, I am" he answered. I was so glad that someone I knew was also here with me, since this whole thing was completely new to me. Well, I guess I didn't really know him that much but that doesn't matter, at least it's someone right?
After the break had finished, it was time to audition to see which character we would get. I was quite nervous but happy anyway, because no matter what role I got, I still got to be here performing which is what I've always loved doing.
Louis auditioned first, I sat at the side secretly watching him because I was curious to know how good he was at acting. When they asked if he could sing, he suprisingly nodded.
His voice was... amazing. He sounded like an angel, much better compared to me.
My turn to audition was next. I could see Louis secretly looking at me from the side, just like I did for him, but I pretended not to notice. The character I was auditioning for was originally a female in the play but, that's okay. Being me, I just wanted one of the main roles and Louis had already took the other main one.
A few hours later when the auditions were over we were told who got the parts, which was sort of nerve wracking because everyone here seemed so much better than me..
Louis got his role, which wasn't a surprise because he seemed really great at it.
"Harry...."
"You got the role! Congrats!"
I was SO happy, and started jumping around until I noticed everyone was watching me so I just sat back down awkwardly, but still very happy. Now all I had to do was practise to be as good as the others, apparently I already was great but I knew I had to be better to perfect my role.
Once we were all ready to return home, the script for the play was handed out to everyone to practise. I looked forward to doing this play and swore to myself that I would practise hard on it every day.
~at home~ still in Harry's POV
"So how did it go??" Anne said excitedly as I walked through the door.
"It went great, I got the role I wanted!" I replied enthusiastically.
"That's great Harry!" she chuckled, just as excited as I was, maybe even a bit more than me.
As soon as our conversation was over I ran up to my room and saw my phone light up, which was weird because usually nobody ever messaged me.
Louis: Hey Harry, do you wanna work on the script together over a video call?
It was Louis, which made me smile because for some reason I loved seeing his name light up on my phone.
Harry: Of course! Call me when you're ready Lou :)
Then my phone started ringing..
"Hey Harry!" Louis said over the call. "Should we look through the script first?"
I nodded, opening the script and then looking through it. Until I saw something that suprised me a bit.
'Charlotte and Alex kiss'
I realised that, my character was Charlotte, as I auditioned for earlier because my character was a girl.
"Hey Lou, what character are you?" I asked.
"Uhmmm.. I'm Alex."
~ NOTE ~
Feedback is always welcome, even if it's bad, it just improves the story :) I hope this is okay so far!
