Y/N dragged herself into the dining hall, head aching.

"Good morning." China smiled from his place at the table. "South Hamgyong made us bean sprout soup."

Y/N collapsed onto her cushion, placing her forehead on the cool table. It felt like soldiers were marching in her skull.

"So," SH said delicately, pushing a bowl of soup towards the girl. "What happened last night?"

Y/N groaned loudly. "Nothing I want to think about."

She couldn't remember much of it, but she knew in her soul that she had embarrassed herself in front of Korea. General, that name was still so hard to think.

"There, there," China said from beside her, patting her shoulder. "You didn't do anything too embarrassing. At least not while I was around."

"When I woke up, you were on your floor, tangled in your futon cover," SH added helpfully.

"Ah. I stand corrected." China sipped his soup.

Y/N turned to him, smushing her face on the table. "How are you so cheery?"

The Countryhuman shrugged. "I guess I just hold my liquor better."

"Why were you two drinking together in the middle of the night?" Kangwon asked, ladling himself some soup.

"Commiserating." China saved her from trying to think of an explanation. "The stock market is down."

"What'sa stock market?" Hae asked, bouncing in. "What do they sell?"

"Not that kind of market, Hae." Hwang came in with his sister. "Well," he said, looking at Y/N. "You look..."

"Like shit," North Hamgyong finished, barging in.

Hwang winced. "I was going to put it more delicately than that."

"Mornin'." South Pyongan followed the boys in. "Oh sick- bean sprout soup. Who's hungover?"

    "Y/N and China," SH said.

The blue-skinned female province looked skeptically at China. "Y/N I can believe- she looks like crap."

"Thank you," Y/N muttered sarcastically into the table.

"But you?" South Pyongan finished, looking at the Chinese Countryhuman.

"Me," China said, sipping directly from his bowl.

"I hope you both learned your lesson about night-drinking," Korea said, arriving with CCCP and Krim.

Y/N tried to sink into the tabletop, cheeks flushing heavier than when she had been drinking. Desperately she tried to remember what she had said to Korea.

"Oh! Oh! I know!" Krim bounced up and down, waving her hand in the air. "My Папа says to day drink, that way no one can tell when you're actually drunk. And if you start early enough, you finish being sad by the time you have to talk to anyone important." She beamed proudly, putting her hands on her hips.

"Not... what I was going for," Korea awkwardly said.

"I wish I had been around for you." CCCP patted his granddaughter on the head.

"She might have a point," South Pyongan said.

"You're off of babysitting duty," Korea told her.

"So you accomplished what you needed to, comrade?" CCCP asked China.

The Countryhuman nodded, finishing his soup. "My sphere of influence is secured. I also have established guerrilla fighters in all of the African countries that haven't joined us yet."
