THE tension is suffocating.(Name) sat at the other end of the table while Bakugou remained glaring on the other side. He had made the servants leave moments ago, and the door to the dining room was shut.
Now, it was just the two of them.
"What I did--"
"Shut up." Bakugou immediately silence (Name).
The woman was left quiet and Bakugou run his mouth.
"In the middle of the battle...my soldiers were suddenly short with food. They went by with a quarter of bread each day and some of those fuckers died in the frontlines when those Glacia soldiers pushed us back because they didn't have the stamina for it. You fucking know why?" Bakugou suddenly stood up. "Because you gave all the rations to those good for nothing extras down the curb! You should be thankful we managed to push them back."
"If I haven't, half the people in town would have starved, worse they would start a revolution as their final act." She argued.
"They can't even lift themselves up to find food, so obviously they won't be able to start something violent like a revolution. And even if they do, they'd find their neck broken before they could even lift their sticks."
"That's just wrong! You can't kill everyone because they're starving, it's not their fault a war broke out. There are people out there who are dying from starvation and that just means their leader is not competent enough to handle the economic crisis the people are suffering from."
As if Bakugou's glare couldn't get more harsher, (Name) suddenly found herself actually terrified at the look he gave her.
"Not competent enough?" He scoffed. "Look who you are fucking talking to. Those Glacia fuckers took a bunch of territories from us in the time of my mother's reign. And I got them back! If it wasn't for me and the military, Glacia would have colonized us by now."
(Name) didn't know that. And she felt like an idiot for not knowing that. She took note of apologizing to him about that later. However, (Name) still chose to go on with what she stand for.
"It's not fair...to just prioritize the military, you should look out for your people too." She said.
"You know nothing at all, do you?" Bakugou snarled. "You're so childish you think everything can be solved so easily without sacrifices. Well let me tell you, you can't. So can you just fucking stop complaining about everything. Not everyone can live in fantasies like you do."
Before (Name) could even open her mouth, Bakugou's thundering footsteps reverberated on the four walls of the room as he marched outside. The sound of the door opening and slamming violently made (Name) flinch.
And she was left to think of what Bakugou had just said.
That night, (Name) didn't have much appetite for dinner and retired to her room, distracted and deep in her thoughts.
Even when Uraraka tried to talk to her as she dressed her with her night wear, (Name) remained quiet and just stared at empty space.
Uraraka hopelessly stared at her, then she guided (Name) to her bed where the Queen still remained her mouth shut.
The servant curtsied and was just ready to retire for the night when (Name) spoke.
"Do I sound ridiculous?"
Uraraka look concerned and waited for her to continue.
"I mean," Finally, the Queen met Uraraka's eyes, "telling my husband he's not competent enough to run a country, and that he should prioritize both the civilians and military. Who am I kidding? I don't know anything about leading at all."
